I have a factory barreled .300wm rem 700 that I'm reloading for. Right now I have some 185grn Berger classic hunter hybrid bullets, a pound of RL25, and Winchester LRM primers. I'm hoping to seat these things within .015 of the Rifling. Would anyone know where a good place to start my powder load would be? I'm going to load one bullet in +1 grn increments to find the powder node for my particular combo, I just need a safe and good place to start. And if anyone has tested this combo I'd love to hear your results, thanks.

My brother shot rl25 in his 300 win for a couple of years with 180-200 grain pills. It shot very well and we even did some prarie dog shooting with it. You may run out of case capacity before you get to full pressure here but you are still going to see good speed. I'd start at 75 grains and work up slow.

Thanks for the reply Lefty, I've had great results with it and 180grn Hornady interlock's with 5/8" groups. I just wasn't sure if I could use the same starting data since the Bergers are 185's? And I never load near high pressure I stop when the accuracy is satisfying.

Is the .300wm the .300 Weatherby Magnum? I like Reloader 22 with 200 gr Speers in the Weatherby case at 3030 fps from a 26 inch barrel. Reloader 25 is much more useful in the .300 Ultra Mag with 180 gr bullets. Retumbo is slower yet and helpful with the 200 gr Accubonds.

I think you can pour as much R-25 as you want to crush into the .300 Winchester case with 180 and 200 gr bullets and still not reach the pressure that will produce consistent groups and high velocities.

I'm referring to the .300winchester magnum. I have to partially disagree with your inconsistent statement as I have already achieved 5/8ths 3 shot groups with Hornady 180grn bullets.
