Does anyone have any experience with the Counter Sniper Optics scopes? I am looking for a scope to put on the 375 Chey-Tac that I am having built. The scope CSO makes that has caught my eye is the 4-50x 75mm objective with 34mm tube. Does anyone have any incite on a suitable scope if it is not?

Thanks for the review link. I am open to suggestions. I know some of the things I am looking for in a scope but I'm not sure what scope are worthy of the price.

Obviously, not that one.....

Maybe a Leupold or a Vortex or a Night Force, even a Nikon or perhaps a Burris....

Sounds like the 'Counter Sniper is on par with a Tasco....

If you share what things you're looking for and what kind of shooting you plan to do, you'll get better suggestions.

I am planning on using this rifle for extreme hunting and target shooting. I would like to get into shooting in excess of a mile. I want a scope with plenty of magnification. Probably around 30x or above. Large main tube diameter, 50mm+ objective, illuminated Ranging/ Mil-Dot reticle, high range of MOA adjustments. I know that eliminates a lot. I am looking at nightforce but I can't find many scopes similar. Any suggestions ?

Without you giving a budget, off the top of my head, I would say Vortex Viper if you're on a tight budget, Night force if you've got a little more money to spend.

Check the ELR forum and look what most of those guys are running, you'll find a heavy number of Nightforce product, the ACTAR seems to be very nice and frankly it's buget freindly for an optic with it's capability.

Sigh...
There are so few people these days that want a reticle subtended differently than their turrets that it makes me question if you really even know what you actually want.
Nightforce makes good, mid end optics. If you have that kind of money get yourself your favorite nxs. Hate to disappoint but you won't find a nightforce with a mil based reticle and moa turrets, so you're going to have to learn to range in moa or dial in mils one way or the other if you get into a quality optic.
Gotta ask yourself, though, if you know enough about what to look for in an optic to justify spending $1500-3K on one...there is no 'best', only best for you. And you don't know what that is.

X2. I dont get into the MIL vs MOA debate becaues it doesnt matter. No one unit of measurement is better than another. I can shoot and spot in both. What I can not do, have no desire to do, and cant see why anyone would ever want to do is see MIL, and dial MOA (or vise versa). Its 10x easier when you see in the reticle what you dial on the turret. The fact that there is a scope with a MIL reticle, and MOA dials is a marketing gimic for people who want to use a "sniper" reticle, but understand MOA better.

Sniper biper... Unfortunately, our sport and the industry has adopted words that are detrimental to all of us, no matter what we shoot or what we hunt. Words like tacital, sniper, special ops and other paramilitary terms shild be removed from advertising and should be not be used.

It gives people not associated with our sport a bad impression and I'll tell you something, those people make up the voting majority in the country.

Like the AR platform. People associate 'AR' with assualt rifle when, in fact, 'AR' is a designation and nothing more.

OK I guess my reticle terminology may not be up to par with a lot of pros. I am not new to guns or shooting. I am however new to the idea of shooting over 1,000yds so I am in the learning stages on that. I got on this site looking for advice from knowledgeable people who shoot extreme distance in order to learn what I need and need to know. As to what I want in a scope I base what I want on the scopes I have experience with. The likes and dislikes of them.

From experience I can tell you price range will be the next most important variable in the equation. Your going to need a lot of internal travel, and matching reticle/turrets (MIL or MOA really does not matter). Internal travel is pretty expensive. For instance the counter sniper you were looking at has 60MOA internal travel, so basically the same as most folk's 1 inch tubes. You would be lucky to get 1000 yds with that scope (obviously caliber depending).
