What is out there that will push the 210 or 215 bergers above the 3100 fps mark in the 30 caliber? Got a friend looking to get a wildcat 30 caliber.

I am already getting a 7MM AM. I know he's probably not going to spend as much as I did. I've been trying to tell him to go first class. Thanks for the reply.

28" barrel on a 300 win will get you 3000 with 215's. Off the shelf dies and ammo if needed. Easy load work up and will do all that is needed from a 30 cal. Not to mention enough barrel life to allow a good amount of practice and good quality brass available.

If he wants a wildcat, then have him look at the 30/375 S.I. It should top out with the 210 in a 28" barrel right at 3100 fps, burning about 79-81 grains of H1000. Do a google custom search in the upper right side of the screen. I just shot mine on Saturday. :)

Depending on barrel length, if it's a 28" or longer I would go with the 300WSM those speeds can be hit or at least really close to them in a GREAT cartridge.

Thanks guys. He's torn between .284 and .308 caliber. After reading about the 215 hybrids that Broz posted, he likes the sound of the .308 caliber. Crunching numbers between it and what we're getting from our senderos, our .284 still has plenty of energy and less drop and wind drift. It's his decision to make, not mine. Thanks for the ideas and info. I really liked Broz's in depth thread on the 215 hybrids. Good job Broz!

The 30/375 S.I. will so that with a non-belted case in a std. length (96 gr. capacity). Case life is good and they are easy to form from 375 Ruger. Quality micrometer dies are available from Whidden in a timely manner. Mine shoots lights out......Rich DSCF0491.jpg
