Not Good News

It's also NOT bad news. If you actually read what Hornady has to say, you will see that they are suspending production of certain products in order to allow for INCREASED production of other products that are in high demand. Yes, that means that some of the bullets and ammo that I really like may not be produced for awhile. It also means that other bullets and ammo that I really like and use a lot of may finally be available again soon.

The bad part about this is my rifle, .308 win, loves the 165 BTSP (8098). And it is part of the suspended list. I know that it is not permanent, but I have to be easy on what I have.

Anyone that's had a business of their own....and managed it....knows exactly what they're doing and I'd do the same thing!

That's STRAIGHT TALK from the man whose name is on the 'dotted line' and I appreciate his effort to set things straight!:):D

I feel bad for those who use items on the suspension list, it's unfortunate to not be able to buy what u need. As for some of the jerks bad mouthing and promising to never buy another Honady product again ever, I think they should pull their heads out of their behind parts and get with the program. For these particular individuals I think Hornady could have served themselves better by publishing a list of what they will continue to produce rather than what they are suspending. All the manufacture wants to do is continue producing the most popular .223 rounds instead of stoping the line to retool for the less popular .223 options. I just use this particular caliber as an example.
For those that still haven't "gotten it" THIS WILL RESULT IN MORE PEOPLE BEING ABLE TO BUY SOME AMMO! Sorry for the rant but some of the comments I read on the link I the original post made me very upset. It's unfortunate that there are people with so little understanding of the way things work.

Sorry to start an argument fellas. The only reason I posted this in the first place was to make everyone aware of what was not going to be produced for a while. Kind of a save em' if ya got em' warning to all Hornady bullet users. I don't blame Hornady one bit at this point.

I think the important takeaway from this is that what Hornady is doing is a net GAIN for us as shooters. This is an excellent example of a company doing everything it possibly can to meet demand in the CIVILIAN market. Hornady deserves to be applauded for this, IMO.

Some of my favorite bullets from Hornady may be out of production for awhile. I will probably switch to other bullets for those applications. OTOH, there are some other Hornady bullets that I haven't been able to get for quite awhile that I will be very happy to get.

The negative reaction I have seen to this news is incomprehensible to me. Either there are just some people out there who are so negative by nature that they can't tell when someone is trying to actually mitigate a difficult situation for all of us, or their reading comprehension skills just plain suck.

600BP, just for the sake of clarity, the above post was not aimed at you. It is intended as a general comment on the situation, rather than a flame attempt. If my comment is interpreted as picking on you, please accept my apology in advance.

+1-- what he said..... I think it'll help some at least.... I won't be able to shoot much though as half of the pills I use are suspended.
