Whats a good load for my newly acquired 7mm rem mag in remington 700 sendero II?

I plan on using 162 Amax or 168 Bergers? It seems the Amax has a bit better ballistics.

I plan to hunt deer size game with this rifle.

Any generally known loads for this rifle?

thank you

I'm using RL22 with 168 Bergers.

The load I've settled on for the rest of the year takes 19.5 MOA to get to 1000 and will shoot 0.6 MOA 5 shot groups if I call the wind correctly.

rl 22, h1000, imr 7828 all 3 are in my opinion your best choices. BUT, donot use amax bullets for hunting! They are for target not for hunting. They would do good for gophers, ground hog, jack rabbit but no way will you be happy with wounded deer, elk bear or moose.

Anybody using large rifle primers instead of mag? I have a thousand Sellier and Belliot (sorry about the spelling) and thought I might develop a load(s) with them. I have H1000, Rl22 and 7828...

+1 on the amax, but don't shoot deer or bigger with it.

mag primers are the choice for 7mmrm. Std. primers will do but, to get the best most reliable performance from high expantion ratio calibers you do need the extra boost from mag primers

Especially if you have plans to use the rifle in extremely cold conditions. If you are always 70 and sunny, you may get by with a standard with many powders, but I won't do it up here where it may be 70 one weekend and 0 the next.

Thanks for the advise on the amax. I currently use 7828 in my 270 wby mag but I hear it is a bit temperature sensitive. Should I try 7828 in my 7mm or should i just go out and get h1000?
