Looking for input on the cooper 54 excalibur. I came across one in a 260 and for $1200 LNIB i couldnt pass it up. Anybody have any experience with this model?

yeah, they are awesome. I have one in 6.5 creedmoor and it shoots excellent. The only complaint I have is...the spent cases hit the scope half the time and stay in the action. I think this could be prevented with medium rings instead of low but I have not proved that theory.
I used to have a model 52 in 25-06 and it was a great shooter also. I wish I never sold that rifle.

You should enjoy the rifle for a long time. Which bullets are you planning on using?

I have a M54 Varminter in 22-250 that is just fantastic. It is probably my favorite rifle to shoot. Accurate, nice looking, and very well made.

This rifle is mainly just going to be a whitetail gun here in PA so im going to try both the 120 ballistic tip and the 130 accubond. Ive got a bunch of varget and some H4350 lying around which should work good.

Anybody else have any experience with the Excalibur?

I just got a new M54 Jackson Hunter in 7mm-08 which is the same as the Excalibur except for the stock. Unfortunately for me, after waiting a year and a half, there was an issue with barrel runout. Also the bolt cut out in the stock was not centered at all. I returned the rifle over two months ago and haven't got it back yet!

WOW! As much as Cooper pitches quality control its hard to believe they would let that rifle leave the factory like that!

I have a brand new Excalibur in 6.5x284 and the bolt isn't centered in the stock either. I had the gun cerakoted. You can see where the stock is rubbing on the cerakoted bolt handle. Still working up loads. Trying to get the 130 Bergers hunting to work and will add Nosler BT and Accubond.

To me that is unacceptable for a rifle of that price! Did you relieve the area where it's touching. I can't imagine this is any good for accuracy?
