Looking to upgrade my binos for hunting season and I think I have it narrowed down to these two. I have heard a lot of good things about the Zen Ray ED3's but the Conquest HD's are fairly new and I can't seem to find much info about them. What do you guys think?

I don't know what your budget is, but look into binocs with image stabilization. The most inexpensive I know of is made by Cannon and is 10 X 42? The price goes up from there. 99% of the hunters have never seen a pair let alone looked through them. When I hunted in Alaska for brown bears the guide had a $1000.00+ pair of Swarovski's, I had Steiner's and the other hunter had the $300 Cannon with image stabilization. After we all looked through the "CHEEP" cannon everyone wanted to use them. When you have to look through binos for long periods of time the others would give you a headache or you didn't want to look through them until your brain could get back to normal. It is not fun to look when everything is jumping all over the place. The image stabilization makes a big difference. If the cannon is to cheep get the high end ones that cost more than $2000.

im sure out of the two the ziess would have the better optics. A fairer comparison would be the ziess hds to the zray hds.

be sure u look at em and feel them up close before buying...i was set on buying the conquest hd in 8x32 but i went to store and looked at em and while the optics were great i didnt care for the hands feel and the focus wheel was very slick...dude check out the meopta meostar 10x42

I only have experience with the zen's of the brands you speak off . they are awesome, every single person that had picked them up and looked through then has been amazed, several have purchased their own pair. I have not looked through the the zeiss binocs but I do own several pieces of high end glass and the zens are worth every penny.

I have had my Zen rays for a couple of years now and they are awesome. I only have the ED2 but they are still a great pair of glass.

Thanks for the replies guys! I currently have the ZRS HD's in 10x42 and they are by far the best binos I have ever had. I want to upgrade this season and pass the ZRS on the wife/son. I always wanted to own alpha binos, but if I went with the Zens I would have money left over for a new Eberlestock pack, some more Mossy Oak Brush clothing :D, and maybe a new pair of boots!! If the difference is negligable I will go with the Zens. BTW, I compared my ZRS HD's side by side with a buddy's Swaro EL's in low light and did not see a $2,250 difference. I noticed the Swaros had better egde to edge clarity and maybe a bit better resolution, but nothing that would cause someone to miss seeing an animal.
