I was wondering peoples thoughts on this. Is it the same as free range?

In my opinion its not even close to the same thing if the animal didnt have a fence would it live that long would it even live there? For people to say its the same thing then why didnt you just go out and shoot one without the big money and fence? I have spent alot of time on hunting well all my free time have some dang good whitetails on the wall and am very happy to say not one was in a high fence all was free range kills. That said to answer your questions it is not the same thing, i don't think i ever said it was did i?
To each there own though, don't hate on what other people do as long as they are not breaking laws...

Actually you came extremely close to saying it is the same thing,
"I have killed multiple 150+ bucks in low fencing, low fence or high fence on a big ranch is all the same for the most part. With a high fence you can actually let your deer mature before one some else pokes him a year or two early.

I don't hold hunting in high fence animals against you, just not my thing.

well i didnt want to be rude and just take over your thread. Yes you pretty much said it was the same. Drives me crazy people go shoot an animal that cant go ware it wants if you call that hating then so be it, sorry. If hunting in a high fence is the same as cams ect. then why not go buy one and kill the deer it would be way cheaper?
I should have clarified my answer by the size of the game ranches, which i obviously didn't but whatever.
I do use cameras...
Have you ever hunted on a ranch that has a high fence? Try it sometime you may find out it's not as bad as you made it out to be. Like i said in another thread it's more about the commodore during the paid hunt i have then the deer i actually take. If you tried it and hated it that's great,l but what dives me crazy is when people talk about something they have never experienced (not saying you personally haven't)...
Do any of you hunt exotics, like Axis or blackbuck? Would you shoot them in a low fence area or would it have to be no fence at all? Reason i ask is Axis and blackbuck for example are scared to death of fencing and won't jump a 4' fence so in essence for some exotics a 4' low fence is the essentially the same as a high fence for whitetail.

Never hunted high fence, why would i? Im not talking just whitetail any fenced in animal is just not my thing never will be after shooting all my big bucks totally free roam why would i get anything out of high fence hunting?

PS: FYI it doesn't take a lot of money to have a good time with others, unless you like hobnobing with the rich folk and it sounds like maybe that's your style!

First auto spell check does that sometimes. Since when is where spelled "WARE", isnt that one of the first words you learn how to spell in 1-5 grade. Before you bag on one person you should make sure you spelling is spot on.
I never said it takes a lot of money to have a good time, i just simply stated i personally have a good time with those peeps. So you know those peeps i am talking about are the guides which are not rich folk by any stretch

That's okay, as I know you were referring to both of us about spelling. If you know the English language, you have the words "where", "wear", and "ware" that are all pronounced the same, but have different meanings and to use them you should know what they mean. In the instance of IW using "ware", instead of "where", I'm sure he was just in a hurry and knows what they all mean. You, on the other hand, are looking for the word "camaraderie" and it's not even close to the word you posted, but at least it's nice you know there is a spell check, LOL! What we're both trying to tell you is that if you post pictures, please don't pretend to have killed them in what is considered to be "fair chase" when they are behind a high fence or at least say how many acres the enclosure is and the name of it so someone can do a little research if they aren't familiar with the place. In this instance, I'm well aware of the practices of "The Sanctuary" up here in Michigan and it may be decent size, but the way they feed those animals with the Purina Deer Chow out of troughs and the deer become habituated to them and people, it is a lot closer to what we would call a "canned hunt" than fair chase. If you want to argue that, go right ahead, but I'm done after seeing where you and your folks hunt to get your "trophies".

its all good, to be honest im terrible at typing so im the last person to say anything about spelling. Im just trying to prove my point about the diff between high fence and free range. I work my butt off to kill the deer i do at free range and dont feel its fare that a high fence animal is being compared in the same bracket.
