With Cali putting another nail in the coffin what is your suggestion for a long range copper hunting bullet for my .300win.? 180gr or 200gr. I'm sure it's been debated but what the hell, let's roll it around again. Thank you in advance. First timer so take it easy if the question isn't up to snuff.

Thanks. I just got a box of the 175s but haven't loaded em yet. I'm big on RL 22 and both of the 4831s. What's your preference?

I've taken quite a bit of game with the Barnes & have had 100% success. LongTimeLongRanger turned us on to Cutting Edge sometime back & I've been using some of theirs.

These bullets seem to compete or beat Berger in the BC department & the terminal performance results i've seen has been good. The downside is, they are expensive. My last order of 50 G-10, 130grn 6.5cal MTH's was ~$70 dellivered or nearly $1.50ea delivered. Ordering more than one box at a time would certainly drive the price down however.

Accuracy has been as good as any lead core bullet i've ever shot with my last recorded 100yd 5-shot group going in the low .3's. I've taken game from 300 to over 600yds with authority (a yardage that will certainly increase this year).

I can highly recommend the CEBs.

Thanks for the replies. As far as taking anything back in California goes, not likely. When your fifth generation and all your business and family are here your kinda stuck. The bad part is, where I live everyone is like minded conservatives. Problem is my county's voting population is the same as a square mile in S.F. Or L.A. Won't be long and we'll all be outlaws. Thanks again for all the help.

I do agree it be hard to change what's happening in Calif. I was born Oakland raised SF and my Dad was union so I was raised Democrat same as my wife. She was born Chico and her sisters were born Willow so my wife's family has strong present from Woodland up thru Maxwell.

Last time I checked Willow was part of Glenn County and if your living in that county you may want to read this.

I kind of keep up things and I do live in Co now but we think about moving back and were both Republican's.

Just orderd 200 Etips. Was looking into Cutting Edge bullets. At what speed does expansion become unreliable?

With the design of the hollow point, I would feel safe to bet it will expand at pretty low velocity. But I cannot comment on exactly what that may be.

My mule deer last was taken at 655yds & it still expanded enough to fragment if that tells you anything.
