Well, after a 14 month wait (which felt like an eternity) I finally received my first custom rifle. The rifle is a 300 Jazz (300 Norma with a 30 degree improved shoulder) and it was built by Nate Dagley (SSG) and Chad Dixon (LongRifles). Nate did the barreled action and Chad did the stock, bedding and Cerakote.

I'm very pleased with the rifle. It looks great and is very accurate so far. While fire forming brass I shot a 1.14, 1.11 and a 0.86 inch group (all were different loads) at 300 yards. Needless to say I will be fire forming the rest of my brass with the load that shot 0.863. I can't wait to stretch it out.

Build Specs:

· McMillan A3-5 w/ two flush cups on left side
· Weatherby Mark V Action
· Weatherby extended bottom metal
· Weatherby trigger set at 2.5lbs
· Brux #5 fluted barrel, finished at 26 inches
· SSG Mini Extreme brake
· Near Mfg 10 MOA Alpha mount
· Vortex PST 6-24X50 FFP
· Flatline Ops scope level w/ACI
· Butler scope caps
· Seekins 4" bipod rail
· Atlas bipod BT10-LW17
· Custom SSG seater and FL dies
· Custom Lucas bore guide

Great caliber choice!
What bullet are you shooting?

I was wondering if you were going to comment. I read some of your posts while I was trying to decide on a caliber. Nate throated it for the 210's, but I plan on switching to the 230's if I can push them fast enough to justify it.

230's or the 215's would be great. I would try the 215's first.
Nate builds a very accurate rifle.

Dang I have a Weatherby kicking around, might need a friend for my 2-338 Normas. Nice rig

I wish I could find some 215's! I bought some 230's before all hell broke loose. Yes, Nate does build some very accurate rifles and he is one hell of a nice guy! He's building me a 280 AI and a 243 AI or a 6x47 Lapua(still need to decide) right now.
