do the math subtract the amount used and sell him whats left.

I paid $271 for it..............................powder plus has mat and shipping .................I used 2% so I would sell it for $265 right!

Like I said .......................................I wont sell it for what I had to pay for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was told it was in stock and I said ship me 8lbs................................I did ask the price next time I will, no next time I wont buy from that place...............................I pay $26.99 for it in one lbs cans here in town when and if I can find it and up to now all I have heard is "dont even ask...........................................so $27 times 8 $216 plus HasMat what ever that is plus shipping, I dont remember what they charge for a lbs.........................I was glad to get it, thinking it would work in my rifle only to find out it would not............................So if I can get $165 then the experiacne only cost me $100 give or take..................I bought two lbs of RL 19 today for $50

Crap, that is spendy for powder. I won't pay much over $20 a pound for anything. I usually get 5# rl for $100 here... I notice they've gone to $110 for 5# rl lately with some even higher. Inflation by starvation.

Local shop had it, 200.00 for 8 lbs. The last I bought was in Nov 2012, it was 160.00 at that time. It's just going to get higher.

It's just going to get higher.
I disagree. Sooner or later the suply will stabilize and the current 'panic' prices will fall. Same goes for factory ammo. Buying powder as an 'investment' makes little sense. Expecting to sell for more than than you paid, when you paid too much to begin with is........... Look back to 2009-2010, the 'panic' subsided and there was a very large over supply.

I just paid $130 for a 8# keg of I 4320.... I bought 8# retumbo for $160 last year. The last one before that was a 8# keg of 7828 for $100. The price fluctuates as much based on demand as actual cost. rl is usually 20 to 22 dollars per pound but it's hit 24 lately due to demand. Much over $25 a pound is simply getting had imo.

Shortgrass, I hope you are right. In normal circumstances I would agree with your assessment. I believe we are entering a political era unlike anything we have seen before. There will be one crisis after another that will be used to further a radical anti gun agenda. The attacks will come from all angles, so far the possession of certain types of firearms have been the focus. Watch for all sorts of new ideas that will limit or prohibit the sale of bullets, primers and powder.

I expect limitations on the possession of black powder by private citizens will be floated first. Then taxes on ammo and components will be levied. The intent of these taxes will be to make buying components a very expensive endeavor.

There may be periods of time when the price of components will decrease, then another crisis will hit and prices will jump. Time will pass and prices will recede but not quite to pre-crisis levels. Then another crisis comes and the cycle repeats itself.

Also the government is printing 85 billion dollars per month. In addition to this they are borrowing 40 cents of every dollar they spend. This is causing inflation. No you say, inflation is only running 2 percent per year. Guess what, the government controls the list of goods and services that is used to calculate inflation. Check out the price of milk, flour, green beans, fuel, etc 4yrs ago. No, it's going up folks, buy components with confidence.
