Does anyone have any pet loads, I have seated them .075 off the lands so they will eject properly. I have loaded up 18 cases in groups of 3 in 1 grain increments but have not shot it yet. Just wondering if anyone has any pet loads they would be willing to share.

Thanks,
Parker

As far as charge weight goes, the closest anyone could get you is between 70 and 75 gr of H-1000. Your particular rifle, chamber and lot strength of H-1000 will all be part of the deciding factors of the final load.

Thanks Broz, the Berger manual lists 72.9 gr as max load but have found the manual to be a bit on the low side on most loads. I have 67.0 to 73.0 in one gr increments so hopefully something will jump out there so i can work with it.

Win Brass, Fed 215M primer, 72.0gr H1000 and the 230 @ 3.63in OAL... Runs amazing in my 300WM. 2720 fps... no pressure. Start low and work up.

Broz, i am running win brass. I am doing this for a buddy that had this gun built. I have annealed, trimmed, turned, deburred flash holes, and uniformed pockets to have the most unifom brass i can.

This is the exact combo I have been shooting winchester brass into one ragged hole.....I'm using 75.0 gr H1000 230 OTM Tatical and Fed215M.....be careful as this is a max load, I ruined some brass before backing down and would not suggest going past 75 or all your hard work and brass prep will be waisted as your primer pockets will be blown!

I concur with cwinner. 75 gr is max for my sons 300 win too. Also as I said, some of the newer warmer lots of H-1000 max could be at 75 gr so move up slowly.

When your load maxes I would expect 2775 fps from a 28" and about 2740 fps from a 26" barrel.

I understand it isn't temperature stable, but has anyone ever tried the 230 with RL25?
My local shooting "range" temp is rarely outside 50-70 degrees F.

Well, I got out and shot today. I only shot a 73.0gr load max. My most promising results were 71, and 72 grs. Bot loads shot sub MOA. These were seated beyond mag length. I also had 71gr loaded to mag length that shot sub MOA. My largest group was 1.5" (only one load shot that) All others were right at the 1" mark or smaller. Going to load up 71 to 72.2gr in .3 gr increments at mag length and see what i can do with that. Hopefully will get to shoot before I go back to work for two weeks.
