A little more info could be of help here. Like what terrain, are you bow hunting or rifle hunting? What distances on game do you wish to achieve consistently? What is your budget????
Also there is probably more threads on RF's on this site than any other item. The search in the upper right corner of every page will produce more info than you could imagine if you care to do some research.

I'm looking for one that can be a used in all terrains for rifle hunting.
When it comes to how far, not sure but would like one that goes beyond 1000 yards since I really only want to buy it once.
Looking for one that has a good review and not going to be thousands of $$$

Well here are the top 3 in my book for under $2000
The Vectronix Terripin, also known as the PLRF05. It will range beyond 3000 yards and has a very precise small beam divergence that will stay on target and not pick up other reflective objects, that other Rf's might grab with their larger beam resulting in a mis-range of the target. Lots of power and will almost nock a deer down at 1000...
Price around $1800
The next one has an option that will separate it from others. It is the Gun Works G7-BR2. What separates this unit is the fact it has a on board computer that samples your current field conditions and gives you a correction for the shot in MOA. It samples altitude, temperature, shot angle and distance. Very handy unit that you input the ballistics from your rifle to come up with the correct shooting solution for the shot. The only draw back I found testing this unit was the large beam divergence. Care needs to be taken to assure it is not picking up something in the fore ground. This unit will give corrections to 1400 yards and ranges to farther. But I do not recommend it for hunting use past 1000. Reason is the beam grows with distance. I found past 1000 the mis-ranges were pretty common.
Price: around $1600
The last one is much less expensive. It is either the Leica CRF 1600 or CRF 1600B. The B has more choices for the ballistic trajectories. This unit is one I own for a back up to my Vectronics. The 1600 will range deer and elk to 1000 plus, and I have ranged trees to 1800. It has a very small precise beam and I trust this unit. It will need to be held very stable when ranging farther target. But if it gives you a number, it will most likely be a good one. It too has a Ballistic correction and samples field conditions, but you only get to choose from a given set of trajectories that may or may not match your rifle and load. I would limit use of the ballistic feature to 600 yards and use a phone ballistic app for longer shots. I feel this unit is a value for it's price.
Price.... 1600 for around $659
1600B for around $750
I have found anything less than these units to be a waste of money if you want to range game animals past 700 yards.

i have the leica 1600 and i thinks its awesome it can range out past a 1000 yards and is a great product for the price

I was asking the same question about 3 years ago, and went with the Leica 1600. But then when I got to 1600 yards I wanted to push it further. Right now I use the Vectronix Terripin. If you want to just buy one unit in the end I would get a Vectronix.
