300 wby load data??

Hey guys I just bought a 300 wby and I'm trying to find a good load using any of these for powder:

H1000
Retumbo
Imr 7828 ssc

And any if these bullets:

Berger vld 185
Berger vld 190
Berger vld 210
Hornady Amax 208

Anything to get me started in the right direction would be awesome and greatly appreciated!

Consider yourself lucky, b/c my Berger manual came in today...

DO NOT start with the max load.....Work your way up to it 1/2 a grain at a time. Just trying to help you incase you are new to reloading.

These are the starting and max loads my Berger manual lists for each weight bullets.

185 VLD:

H1000 - Starting: 75.0....Max: 83.5
Retumbo - Not Listed
Imr 7828 ssc - Starting: 72.5....Max: 78.7

190 VLD:

H1000 - Starting: 75.0....Max: 83.3
Retumbo - Starting: 78.0....Max: 84.5
Imr 7828 ssc - Starting: 72.5....Max: 78.2

210 VLD:

H1000 - Starting: 76.5.....Max: 80.5
Retumbo - Starting: 77.5....Max: 81.5
Imr 7828 ssc - Starting: 71.5....Max: 75.2

Hornady 208 A-Max - My Hornady 9th Edition manual doesn't list the .208 A-Max for the .300 Wby Mag. Sorry.

Sometimes I hate how picky I am with my accuracy it can really burn a guy out on reloading lol just got done with my 308 and thought I was in the clear for a while then bang new gun....

I ran some loads using the 210 VLD with the powders you had posted up (to include the RL#25 that was suggested)

The best performance out of all of them turned out to be the IMR with the RL#25 taking 2nd place.

Is there a certain die set that is best for the .300 wby? Anyone know where i can get a used set or a new place to buy my reloading supplies online the closest place for me is about an hour away or more.

Look at Sinclair and Midway online. Both good outfits. there are many more just search.

I load .300 Wby for a buddy of mine (don't have one myself), but for all my belted-magnum cartridges, I use RCBS Neck-Sizer dies, since it is easier on your brass, and helps to produce less brass stretch.

I got my press & dies, and most of my reloading stuff from Midway USA. Great people, great customer service, and their shipping is FAST!

No

I normally shoot between 40 to 60 deg no effect on accuracy

Most powders will be effected If your in a real hot zone from cool early morning and as the day heats up.
