It turned out to be alot nicer day than the weather man predicted so my wife, Dusti and I went out and did some more shooting with my 338 Edge. I ranged a rock at 1088 yards and the Shooter app on my phone said 28.3 so I dialed up 28.25. Hardly any wind to deal with and it was blowin straight down range. This is only Dusti's 2nd time shooting more than a couple hundred yards and she only shot the Edge once but hit a rock at 1088 yards. Here is the video, Please excuse my whiny dog in a couple of these videos.

Here are a couple videos of me shooting at a rock at 1088 yards that was just to the left of the one she shot. After I shot the first 3 shots, Dusti shot her one shot. But before she shot, I looked at the scope and noticed that I only had it on 5.5 power for my first 3. No wonder it looked so far away!

And here is a video of me shooting at a rock at 1182 yards. I put 1180 into Shooter and it said dial up 32.4 so I dialed 32.5 and let fly. I hit it 2 or 3 times out of the 4 I shot. Couldnt tell where the last shot went.

Im liking this Edge more and more everytime I shoot it. And buying the Shooter app for my phone is the best app purchase I have ever made. Can't wait to get my 243 up and going to blast rocks and steel!
Here is a cool picture my wife took of me with her phone while I was shooting

Sweet! Yesterday was a very nice day, unfortunately I did have that set aside to shoot.

Anytime you can spent time with spouse, esp. LR shooting is extra special in my book.

Thanks for sharing!

You found a day to shoot on the front with little or no wind! Someone was good to you that day. I'm sure you did have fun with those 338's pounding the earth.

Nice day to shoot and fun videos.

Thanks guys! It's a blast. I think the 338 kicks a little much for my wife and she complains that it stinks when you shoot! I just tell her that's 90gr of burnt heaven she is smelling! I have a feeling that when I get my 243 put together it won't be MY 243 anymore. She should have more fun shooting it than the Edge

Cool stuff! What camera were you taking video with?

It's a little JVC Everio HDD camera. It's an awesome little camera but its a hard drive memory so it doesn't have a tape or disc to record on. Gives me a little trouble every time I upload videos on my laptop. For so e reason it saves the videos as .MOD files. Which I think is not compatible with Facebook or photobucket. Neither would let me upload the videos. Youtube would though. If anyone knows how to fix this, I'm all ears!

Great videos and shooting !!!!

Mirage was boiling really good which confirms your wind read of very still and going almost directly away from you to the target.

In spite of that the groups were dang small!!!

Thanks! Like I said, this was the first time I have shot 1000+ and honestly the only time seriously shooting at over 500. A couple weeks ago my wife and I shot a rock at 785. I'm hooked. I've shot at rocks at long ranges before but just holding over with my hunting rifles and not being serious about it. But I'm tying to learn everything I can and hopefully make one or two of the shoots down in Townsend so you experienced shooters can tell me what I'm doing wrong! I was proud of my results despite the fact that I forgot my shooting mat and rear bag! Laying on prairie grass this time of year feels like laying on needles

I don't think you are doing any thing wrong. :)

I learned a bunch from your post.

If you wouldn't keep mentioning it was y'all's first serious attempt no one would have known.

Take an experienced LR shooter to a new spot and if they are not super attentive to the details they can get snookered pretty bad.

I made very good shooting rig look like it had a bent barrel. I knew the guy who was very experienced at this specific spot was thinking "He paid how much and to whom for this rig"?

I gave it to him to shoot and was duly impressed as was he. :)

With real estate it's all about location. With LR and beyond its all about experience.

I hear ya about no mat. I absent mindedly (not unusual) laid the mat over a nice flat ant hill. Once I figgered out what was goin' on I made Gypsy Rosalie look slow.
