What I want is the fastest cartridge for shooting a 107 smk or the 115 bergers with at lest 2000 round barrel life. I was leaning towards the 6-47 lapua but didn't know if there is a better round like the 6xc.The spects on the 6mm-06 looks preety good but I don't think it will meet my round count and I all ready have to many barrel burners so help me out. I am a reloader but I have never fire formed, but I not opposed to doing it.

It really depends on what you intend to do with it. If your going to punch paper all day long than a 6x47, 6xcr or any other 6mm in the BR family would work great. If it's a hunting rig and your shot strings are less frequent. I don't think you can beat a super 6 like the 6mm-06. I love my 6mm-06, and it is one heck of a hunting rig. I have used it on everything from PD's to cow elk. all DRT. 70gr NBT @ 4100 FPS and 95gr VLDS @ 3500 FPS. Easy to reload for, cheap brass & dies. Just neck down some 25-06 in one step and go. Two words with a 6mm-06, fast & fun. I have around 600 rounds down mine with not a single sign of barrel ware. It's gun I have to practice self control with. When I bring it into the PD fields I don't bring out more than 20 rounds. It's almost a point and shoot gun out to 500 yards with the 70gr NBT.

My recommendation would be 6x47lapua. Is there a particular reason you want a 6mm? the 6.5x47lapua is excellent. It can be loaded to send 130grain bullets 2900fps in a 26" barrel.

I don't have an action. I will be using it mostly on rock chucks and paper, but I could see my self using it for antelopes and deer. Mostly chuckers don't mind the 6.5 but the 6mm bullets are a lot cheaper. I like the idea of the super 6mms but don't think the barrel life would be long enough my last build the barrel only lasted 6 months. So I want at least 2000 round out of it. I didn't think the 6-06 would get there but if it will. That will for sure be the round I will get.

I posted a 6mm thread over on Snipershide that has a lot of good imfo on it.
Might be of interest to you.

Will the 6mmAI give me 2000 rounds if i take care of her?

probably see a minimum of a 40% greater barrel life than the .243 case if that matters much. A 6HLS will do everything you want I might add. The 6x47 is easier to bet brass for. You could also chamber a 6/250 AI off a 6mm Ackley reamer headspaced off a 22-250AI gauge, and simply use generic .243 brass (cheaper to come by). That round will drive the 105 grain amax to about 3000 fps without too much trouble. Should also see a 2000 round barrel life as well.
