Has anyone tried match 30 cal bullet into a 30-30 case.. I wonder how it would shoot accurately.. Just for target practice.. I own a few marlin lever gun and I notice there barrels are freaking accurate with that mirco groove.. I am thinking of taking out some bullets out of a bunch of match 308 and trying them.. Any input ??

Just don't put them in the tube magazine. You probably already know this, but just had to throw it out there.
Otherwise, I can't imagine them not being accurate, or at least MORE accurate then the usual bullets for the 30-30.

The 30-30 is capable of **** good accuracy if you feed it right and put a good pill in it. Pops and I had 30-30 contenders years ago and a 125 speer or 135 sierra ssp would go under moa out of a pistol without thinking about it.
I wouldn't crank your weight up above a 168 match as the speed would suck and you won't find data for the bullet weight any longer, but as long as you don't put more than one in the mag you will be fine.
I probably wouldn't even use the mag as many levers don't like to feed pills that aren't factory normal when they were built.

The .308 Win. loaded to 2200 fps with Sierra 168's was a favorite with free rifle shooters in 300 meter competition. One can match that velocity safely with 168's in their .30-30's.

Okay folks I tried to seating a berger match 30 cal into the rifling to seat bullet close to lands but berger are so long it won't extract if un fired.. So there goes that idea. I ll just shoot regulator 150 and match proper powder..
