Has anybody used this powder yet? I was interested in using it in my 22-250 and my 6x284.

I bought 8lbs. of it not too long ago. I worked up some loads with 55g Accu-tips. I loaded only 2 rounds per charge weight except for my start load.
Savage 12bvss 26" CM 12 tw PRVI case,55g Accu-tip 2.410" oal.
40.0=3427 41.5=3623 43.4=3851
40.0=3367 41.5=3613 43.4=3875
40.0=3418 42.0=3642 44.0=3975
40.0=3427 42.0=3663 44.0=3968
40.0=3418 42.6=3724 44.4=4065
40.6=3467 42.6=3755 44.4=4052

The 44.0 loads just started to show a tiny bit of flow around the firing pin,they didn't look flattened out yet just raised ever so slightly around the pin mark. the 44.4g loads were a little worse yet but didn't look too bad. At 44.4g the case was filled to about .060" below the mouth,not much room left at all and really compressed.
Only data I found was for a 60g V-Max so I just backed off the max load for that and worked it back up. I loaded up some 50g dogtowns too but have not shot them yet,also got some 69g match coming to try as well. I also loaded up some .308 with 155 A-maxes but need to go higher on charge weight to get velocity up more still had room in case for more powder and wasn't getting close to having pressure signs yet. Odds are it will be compressed pretty good to get the velocity up.
As Always start low and work it up.

I was of the impression from a lot of the Hornady Superformance Ammo hype that they had a "special blend" for each cartridge family e.g. small rifle, large rifle, magnum...
But, it looks like just one powder to select from and little or no load data published.
I'd be curious to see comparisons of H4831sc and Superformance for the 6.5x284.
I hate to waste what's left of my current my barrel life. So, I think I'll stick with H4831sc for now.

What cartridge were you loading? Any update? I am interested in shooting 77 and 80 gr VLDs in my .224 wildcat which is close to a .22/250 in volume but has a small rifle primer. Is Superperformance going to be the powder. It sure is in my 6mm Remington with 87 V-Max and 90 gr ABs.

I use it in my 22-250 AI and love it getting close to 3800 fps and .3moa with a 60gn berger, A little spread in velocity but have shot it on paper out to 600 and holds .3 moa so very pleased, getting a 22-243 build and am going to try, a buddy of mine uese it in his 243 AI with same results, very underated powder in my opinon and being a sperical it meters fantastic

Thanks for your prompt response. I like velocity so 3800 with a 60 gr from a 22/250 AI (I gave mine away) seems impressive. Do you coat your bullets?
What primers have you tried? What have you learned about primers with Superperformance? Does the ES and SD lessen with maximum loads or with less? How about seating the bullets? Does pressure spike with bullets into the lands as opposed to seating with a jump to the lands?

I have about 8000 WLR primers so i don't switch primers i make them work, and that might help some for sure, I also keep my bullet into the case because it is my coyote rifle so haven't pushed the limits to much found and accurate load and stuck with it

I've used the Superformance in my 30-280 Ackley Improved. While it pushed the bullet out the barrel just fine, there are other powders that work better in this particular cartridge for me.
A call to Hodgdon's and speaking with a tech indicated that this powder they are marketing has a narrow window that it works great in.
Hornady has around 40 different blends of this Superformance powder. Hodgdon chose to come to market with just one of them.
It may work good in certain cases, and not so good in other cases.
In my 30-280 AI, H4831, H4350, Varget all work better in terms of accuracy and velocity.
Hodgdon's told me it was slightly slower burn speed than H4831. In spite of that, it hit pressure way before H4831 does in my 30-280AI.

Not yet Sarge but planning on it this summer after seeing what it did in 300 WSM with 150 grain bullets I just have to tinker with it. With loads listed for .243 and the .260 being the same case and marginaly bigger in bullet diameter I am hoping to work something up with 120-130 class bullets and 140's. When I do get it worked out or not I will post the results for all.

Thanks Hyper, sure was a welcome sight to see some one with a positive response. I will be waiting to see your posting on your results. I'm sure the .260 will do well with this powder as it is close to the CM. cartridge. I do not blame others for shying away from my earlier posts but cannot understand why people want to be abrasive toward some one who wants to try something unknown to them. i played with the superformance in the .300 WSM and .22-250. Got some fairly accurate loads but when the weather changed this powder was freakishly sensitive to temperature change. I backed away from using it for now.

Worked the 300 Wsm load up in 80 degree weather and it was used in minus 20 degree weather give or take a few degrees no sensitivty was noticed and accuracy was still insane. I have a target picture here somewhere from the final load at 200 yards using the 150 TTSX. I will dig it up and post it here with the load info in the next few days.

I tried some in my .22-250 with 60gr bergers. I loaded a couple to try and first round cold bore was on the money at 100yds with my 80gr berger load so i went straight for 400yds and was happy enough with the results that i loaded up 50 more for my coyote hunting rounds.
