A dedicated rifle to run long action cartridges when short action magnums are ballistically close enough. I'll pass.

MSRP was posted LAST YEAR and for some reason, they took it down. This isn't a new product....I believe it was released last year at SHOT. Im pretty sure it carried an MSRP in the neighborhood of $5700, but last I heard, they were trying to get it in the 35-4200 range and at that price point the only assumption/speculation I have about not seeing a price listed anymore, is that the interest hasn't been what they hoped. This could be confirmed or debunked by just calling them though.

Again...anyone care to explain the appeal of this dedicated Long Action rifle, priced higher than a custom built Short Action magnum? 100-150 FPS gain isn't really worth a DEDICATED RIFLE at 2x the cost IMO.

I'm not big on large capacity magazines. However 14 rounds of 300WinMag sounded like a great idea. Sure anybody can get 300WM BAR with a 3 round magazine. I bet this one is more acurate, and can keep up with the bolt rifles for accuracy. For that sort of money it should.

Another plus for me is it's made in MT!

Eugene Stoner's AR-10 and AR-15 designs are light weight, rapid fire, and give the ability to carry lots of ammo. Ever wonder why DPMS and Armalite dumped their AR-10 style 300 SAUM rifles? They were close to the performance of a 300 WM but didn't sell well.

If you want a semi-auto 300 WM for hunting I'd suggest a Browning BAR.
