6mm f-class caliber!!!

Hello, If you have seen any of my other posts im looking for big, giant, awesome, crowd pleasers. Well thats for a different day and a different reason. I am looking for a great f-class caliber. Ive seen what the 300 win can do out there at a grand. But i know a 6mmBR can do the same thing... I dont really want a big 30, any 308 caliber rifle is out of the question. And its all because of recoil. I know a couple guys that completely own the range the first day with a 30 caliber gun. Then get horrid scores on the next few days of the competition because of recoil... Im really looking at anything in a 6mm caliber. Please dont list anything that will burn a barrel in 1000 shots, it dont need to be fast and big! ... i have a hunting gun in 243 winchester that is light, maybe 7 pounds at the most. And she kicks soft enough to know your not shooting a 300 win mag, but hard enought to know your not shooting a 10/22... A 15 pound gun can help that a little bit :) But i am really considering getting a 6mmBR built, but i aint spending no 3 grand on a gun... I have a rifle scope that only cost $109.99 and it is 6-24x50mm and i can see just fine at a thousand. and she shoots just fine at a thousand... I will get a 200 dollar scope that has some insane specs though. Its an amazing scope i have seen it on a couple guns and its a BARGAIN!!! it is 10-40x63mm... Shes sweet! ill spend some 400 bucks on a manners stock and probobly another 400 bucks on a barrel. along with a 400 dollar short action savage. were only 1500 bucks in and we've built an f-class competition rifle. Any recommendation for any barrel brand, stock brand, ext. ext. will be much appriciated. :D
 
I bought a Rem 700 action to make a 6mm XC, my plan was a 1:7.5 twist and 29 - 30 inch stainless barrel. I have a Holland brake on my 243 win and it is a pleasure to shoot 100's of rounds. I've owned three bigger F-1 rifles. 338 LM 30-378 Weatherby, & 7mm STW wildcat.

I have made up my mind. I just want a 243 winchester. Its big enough to shoot at a mile, yet not kill my shoulder.
 
You know you can have a brand new Savage Model 12 VLP or Long Range Precision cheaper than you think your going to build on for!!

Please get the WSSMs out of your system it will be a big mistake. Every rifle made by the manufactures like Winchester & Browning chrome plate the inside of the barrels so they don't burn out by 500 rounds. ( if you don't believe me call them and ask like I did) Then even with the chrome plating you will lose accuracy by 1,500 rounds. Lots of negatives with these calibers. I have a Winchester Coyote .243 WSSM with a factory S/S varmint barrel. I did everything I could to get it to shoot more accurate. I glass bedded & pillar bedded the laminated wood stock and got it to shoot consistently 5/8" five shot groups with my best reloads. The 55 gr bullets shot the best. The factory 55 gr. ammo shot exactly the same. OH, you also have to bump the shoulders back (very critical to do with them) or they are very hard to close the bolt with your reloads. Not only that they are very hard to find ammo in stores at any price and before the "RUSH" they were at least $40.00 a box of 20. AND if you find a used one the barrel most likely will be burned out. You could get an after market S/S match barrel and if it is not chromed it will burn out in 500 rounds also. This is all IMHO.

PS: I forgot to say something good about them???? Oh the Winchester Coyote action has a threaded hole for a third action screw just in front of the trigger guard which is not used on factory guns which I even pillar bedded with no help.

The .243 is a good choice, but if you can consider the 6mm Norma BR. Reloading is easy. Buy Lapua brass and you don't have to turn the necks and they are extremely accurate. I reload them with a Dillon XL-650 which is a progressive press and my hunting rifle I had built for antelope hunting shoots less than 1/2" five inch groups at 200 yds. AND hardly kicks. OH, The .243 has very little gain in velocity over the 6mm Norma BR.

Here are two targets: one = 3/8" at 200 yds. and a 1,000 yd. target with 3 five shot groups with the group sizes in the lower right corner. All 15 shots would have hit the boiler room of an antelope at 1,000 yards. gun)- - - - - - - - - -

I know this about wssm's thats why i dont want one. Now i either want a 6mm remington in a 30 inch tube, or a 243 in a 30 inch tube. And 55 grainers for long range comepetition? haha your funny.
