Has anyone worked with the new 350 gr. gameking? Thoughts on this for long range hunting? Second Question if viable would 375 Ruger cartridge work? If not long range What would be the maximum yardage you would attempt in a hunting situation?

Seems like the 375 has become a bit of an orphan for long range shooting and hunting. I had not noticed this bullet so I ran some #'s (QuickLoad + QuickTarget) for the 375 Ruger and (my) 375 H&H and am pretty impressed. I'd never really thought of my 375 as a long range gun, but this has me intrigued...

Assuming a muzzle velocity of 2429 fps the velocity @ 1000 yards is 1412fps with 1549 ft. lbs. of energy. The drop would be 387" with a 100 yard zero.

I WANT A .375H&H NOW! That bullet is a monster! Only concern I have is the surgery I will have to have on my shoulder after I shoot the **** thing!

I did a similar concept with the .338 300 gr OTM bullet. I used a long throated 338 RCM in a LA.
2550 fps from a 30" barrel with 56.5 gr of RL-17. This package beats the projected results for the 375 Ruger with the 350 SMK. You didn't mention what barrel length you used in quickload so maybe the performance would be closer.
The rifle weighs 14 lbs recoil is just over 22 ft/lb lots of fun to shoot. . At 4000 ft, where I hunt deer, the drift at 500 yds is 8.8" with 3138 ft/lb of energy, vel 2170 fps.
I shot my coues wt at just under 400 yds this year. It worked quite well with little meat damage.

I checked Sierra's website and I see a 350g Matchking, but no 350g Gameking. Are you referring to the Matchking?
I know Berger is planning to introduce a new .375 bullet, but I don't know anything about the planned weight or bc.
I ordered some 300g Cutting Edge bullets for my .375. They have a similar bc to the Sierra Matchkings. I believe I should be able to push them to around 2700 or so from my H&H. The down side is that they will be expensive to shoot. They will definitely not be plinking bullets!
I have been thinking about the long range potential of my H&H and plan to experiment a bit to see what it can do. If the CE bullets work out, I hope to use Bergers or Sierras as a less expensive alternative for practice bullets.
Of course, if the CE bullets work out, I will also have to switch to long range glass for my .375. Right now, it is set up as a short to medium range smasher.

67g of RL-17 out of a 29" barrel, yielding 2429 fps at 53,956 psi (so still some margin to work up hotter).

I'm running the standard APS 375 AM load with the 375 SMK @ 3250 ahead of 142.5 grains of Retumbo out of a 30" Pac Nor bbl.
However I would think a 375 H&H or RUM would be plenty sufficient for LRH.gun)

That would make the 378 Wea. an interesting rifle, the 350MK for target/long range hunting and the 350TSX for close in mean stuff, along with a good muzzle brake I would think>
