Greetings all,

I am still new here, but right now I am just counting down the days till I can get my gun out of the Cool Off period. T-minus 10 days! I am just chomping at the bit to get it. I had Mark Chesebro of Chesebro Rifles make me a custom Sako m995 with a 32" barrel in 7mm Rem Mag.

I know it might not be anything special, but this is my first custom gun in a long time and lets just say I can hardly wait. I think customs are the worst (and best thing) you wait for them to make it and when its done you have to wait again.

Anyone else in Cool off Purgatory who can share my pain?

Cheers,

T

I feel for you! I have went through 10 day periods were I have bought sold and went through a half dozen different guns. I don't do well with waiting. lol gun)

It would be great not to have to wait, but in a twisted weird sort of way I understand. I mean, its California, you really don't want everyone here to have a gun.

Okay I am joking right now, no need to bash me or call me a names like, democrat or liberal. Im NOT! Just saying there is a lot of stupid people here that give us a bad name and giving them a gun might not be a good thing.

For all of us sane, gun tote'n conservatives we should have an express lane for purchasing guns. Just saying and messing around.

Just want my gun.

Nothing funny about having restrictions placed on Constitutionally recognized God-given rights.

Would you be as forgiving if you had to wait 10 days and pay taxes to use your first amendment right?

And to top it off California now has a extra 125 bucks you have to pay to even wait the 10 days.

The State fee is $25 shops normally charge $50 to $100 on top of that.

Just glad I know some guys who do transfers.

Here is a pic of the gun, the only thing we are waiting on is the scope mounts, those need to get changed out. Just can't wait to shoot it.

Great Job and kudos to Mark at Chesebro Rifles

Hopefully Friday before work.

Cheers,

Tony

Was the barrel length his idea or yours? I can't imagine that length would be very useful for carrying, looks kind of awkward. Not dissing your build, just curious.
On the waiting period, I can't imagine why it takes a cool-down for a custom you have already been waiting on. It's not like 10 more days will make you change your mind about shooting someone at 100yds. :)

As far as I'm concerned, The United States only consists of 30 states for me at the moment. Hopefully some more will come along and recognise an indiviuals right to defend themselves when away from home and join the rest of the union. Nothing like places turning people into criminals for no reason.. rant over...good luck with the gun! Get yourself some 168 VLD's and hit the range!
