There have been many threads about only having one gun. This thread is what would you build for long range hunting and shooting if it's the only one you could have for that. Meaning you can have handguns, shotguns, 30/30 rifles, .22's, etc, BUT ONLY ONE LONG RANGE PIECE.

What would you want?
Action?
Stock/Stocks?
Barrel?
Trigger?
Rings/Mounts?
Scope?
and
Chamber?

Just curious what everyone thinks

Stiller/ Rem 700
McMillan A5
Kreiger 26" w/ Vias brake
Jewel
Nightforce
NXS 5.5X22 npr1 or moar reticle
300 Win Mag

Maybe not ideal but would get job done, IMO.

Manners T5A
Benchmark Barrel in 30" 1-9 7mm
7RSAUM chamber
Savage Action
Rifle Basix trigger set to around 12-14oz.
Big Chubby muzzle break
EGW HD 20MOA Base
EGW HD Rings matching set
Premiere Heritage 5-25x56 w/ Gen 2XR reticule

Surgeon action
manners t5 stock
krieger 28" .284 #6 heavy bull sporter with jp enterprise brake
timney trigger
Nightforce rings
March 5-32x52mm scope
7mm ultra mag

Bat action
Micmillain A5 stock
Brux 29" With muscle or painkiller brake
Jewel trigger (of course)
30 MOA base, nightforce rings
Nightforce 5.5x22x56
284 WIN throated for 195 grain EOL.

284 win because of amazing barrel life, ballistics way out of perportion to its size, easy to neck up Lapua 6.5x284 brass, and with the 168 grain LRX i can get out to 1180 yards before i hit 1600 fps.

Nice to see everyone likes something a little different. Here is mine

Bat model B
shehane tracker
Krieger .284 cal barrel 9 twist 30" varmint taper with Vias
.284 .190 freebore
Jewel trigger
Ken farrel steel base
Burris Zee rings
Sightron 10-50 MOA

My Caliber choice is hard I chose the .284 but would be almost just as happy with a
7SAUM or 7WSM or 300WSM

I just liked the shootability and the barrel life of the .284 a pinch more.

I'm working my way to a ELR rifle, Raptor action from Kirby, Manners MCS-T5A, HS Precision DBM, Brux med Palma at 30in with Muscle Brake.
Jewel trigger, Nightforce rings, Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 with NP-R1 and chambered up in 338 Norma Mag set up for 300gr Berger.
Not building it for shooting close so I better through in a Vectronix range finder:D
