Had my 30/338 Win at the range today testing a load at 200. Here's the details... Rifle fully detailed 03/A3 action, shillen 1 in 10 pipe finished at 26-1/2". I completely cleaned out all the copper from the barrel 85 rounds ago and fired 220 down the pipe since the time before that. Total of 535 rounds down this barrel. The load; fire formed Winchester 338 brass weight sorted, trimmed, flashhole de-burred, neck sized. Primer, Federal 215, 67.4g Ramshot Magnum powder each charge weighed on two scales. Bullet 230 Berger OTM .008" off the rifling. Velocity is right at 2660 SD 17. Two days ago this setup shot a five shot group at 100 that was able to be covered with a quarter. I took it to 200 this morning hoping to verify drops and stretch it to 300 today and out to 600 this weekend. Neither of which I did after today's results at 200. I only attempted two five shot groups with it today. The results where much less than satisfactory. I shot seated off the bench bi-pod on front sand bag out back. Wind was 85 to 90 degrees at 8 to 10 mph, which is .2" of drift at 200 with this setup First group was measured @ 4". Vertical was less than an inch total. I was shocked at what I saw. I verified the torque of all the screws on the scope and stock, all good to go. I then shot a group with my 6.5/06 to check the "me factor" and put together a nice 1" group with that rifle. Second group with the 30/338 was measured at 3.7" total with again a vertical of less than an inch. Opinions and input welcome I'm a little bit confused as to these results.

Have you always shot it off the bench with a bi-pod? Some don't like the hard surface. If the good groups were from prone, I would bet that's the problem. Otherwise, scope.
Same bench I shot the other groups from. I just mounted a different scope next trip we shall see what's up... Thanks for a confirmation.
