.223 heavy bullet load

I use 24.0 grs of Varget out of my AR with 77 grs SMK's, it shoots very well for me, as does the same charge with RL-15

Are you getting any more velocity with RL 15? I just bought a pound to try. I'm shooting a WOA upper with a 7 twist.

My ar load for a nato chambered dpms

75 grain priv. partizan hpbt
23.0 h4895
cci 450(or mil-spec)
max ar mag length
lc 5.56 brass (or fed 223)

2800 fps in a 20" ar-- chrono'd

loaded with standard rcbs dies and no crimp this will do 1.5" at 100 yards with the factory peep for 5 shots. In a bolt it would probably be 1/2 moa as I wasn't even bagged up but had my 30 round mag rammed into the hard rubber surface on the local bench.

75 gr A-Max
24.5 Varget

My best right now is:
70gr berger
26 varget
CCI BR 2 primers
Winchester brass

That load gets me <.25 MOA if i do my part.

These loads are near max if not on max.....no problems in my rifle though

Start low!

I'm not sure of the velocity I'm getting, I've never chronographed them. I shoot a White Oak as well, mine has a 1-7" Krieger on it. This is a standard load for several High Master shooters I know and for myself. It has shot extremely well for me out of four rifles. I'd guess 2,600 fps though for velocity.

I have been using the Hornady 75gr BTHP in my Stag 6H AR-15 with very good results - .5" at 100 yards. Chronographed at 2800fps with no pressures signs using the load below.

75gr Hornady BTHP
23.9gr Varget
LC Brass
CCI 400 primer
Seated to maximum magazine lenght

Lapua brass, cci 450 primer, 24.5 gr varget with 77 nosler cc at 2.285 oal. 2885 fps out of my 24" tikka

Nosler 77gr. BTHP
24.5 gr. N140
CCI 450 SR Mag primers
LC 5.56 brass
C.O.L. - 2.265" (max length I can reliably use in my mags, still well off the lands)
I'm getting .6 MOA @ 2720 fps (18" bbl), single digit ES's.

Hornady 75gr. BTHP
24.8 gr. RL-15
CCI 450,
LC 5.56
C.O.L. - 2.265"
.5 MOA @ 2760 fps (18" bbl), ES 9
