Snipex ...

Sounds wonderful, but I keep going back to that old adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
But maybe this time I could be wrong, y'all try it and let me know.

Even if it does increase barrel life as claimed I don't think I'd be happy with the 80% reduction in accuracy.

I laughed when I thought the same thing. I wonder if they meant 80% increase in accuracy? Either way, it says 80% increase in grouping which most people will never even stop to think about.

... Snipex

I read it in my latest issue of NAHC and was wondering if anyone have any hands on experience?
the product is made by xado. you can get the same stuff for cheaper if you buy it as xado not snipex. it essentially the same (same manufacturer)as the otis stuff. it is ceramic boron-nitride. it works by surface hardening and replacing all the additives in steel (like sulfur) that melt out. i used xado in two rifles. it seems to really work as long as the barrel isnt to far gone. the key is to use it very sparingly with multiple applications.gun)

HUH! Where does it say 80% reduction in accuracy? I see ...

  • Restores the geometry of the bore channel (complete obturation)
  • Increases grouping by 80% at 100 yards lightbulblightbulblightbulb
  • Increases killing power of the given ammo
  • Stabilizes gyroscopic positioning of the bullet (better penetration roundness at target)
  • Protects barrel from wear and corrosion
  • Increases life span of the barrel up to 10 times
  • Makes new firearm a higher class weapon
  • 1-time application guarantees wear protection for up to 3000 shots

And in the write up it reduces noise. These guys have the worst marketing department ever. What a joke, reduces noise and increases killing power, makes new firearms higher class weapons. They should have addeded helps with ED and sold It like Viagra.

Are you responding from personal experience?

You highlighted it in red. An increase in group size is a reduction in accuracy.

Dang! I need my eyes checked ... despite highlighting it, I had re-read it more than once. My mind and eyes were not in-synch.

Somehow, I was reading it as ...

Increases accuracy grouping by 80% at 100 yards

instead of

Increases grouping by 80% at 100 yards

My bad and thanks for pointing that out!
