Drew an Oklahoma Antelope tag

Well I was planning on going to WY for my first peek at an antelope, then I drew a tag in my own state! Now the work begins.
Should I use a landowner or will public work?
Any landowner contact info would be appreciated. I would also like to purchase a landowner tag while I am up there, but I am not really sure how that works either.

Any other info on how to hunt these critters would be great too!

I drew in 1996 and hunted property owned by a guy with the last name Foreman. I here things have really changed since then, but I would contact the chamber of commerce in Boise City. They were alot of help in 96. Pronghorn are easier to hunt in WY. but walking and glassing filled my tag with a nice buck. It seemed they were wary of strange vehicles on these gated ranches. But when you decide to go to WY you'll be hooked for life.Good luck from McCurtain County.

Well I am less than a week away from my antelope hunt, I am pumped and slightly nervous. I am going to start on public land as I have heard good things, but if things are not working out then I will start making phone calls to some ranches.

I got my first Oklahoma hog last weekend, so hopefully I can get the antelope next weekend!

I hope it goes well for you. You really should have called some land owners. Getting permission to hunt at the last minute may be hard to do since it's pretty common to limit the number of hunters on a parcel of land.

I thought about that, but also figured that they were not going to hold the land for me not knowing if I would be there or not, so in the end, same result.

Well, I did it. Got one the first day. Came from a group of 5 that were in the same place at the same time as the day before. It was hot, dry, and very windy (makes my shirt in the photo look like a balloon, glad I did not have to stick around another day.

Cant wait to taste the meat to see if I want to try it again somewhere else.
