I gotta get one if only for the box. Barnes ttsx ballistic tip bullets are good hunting bullets i think but i dont know anything about pierce munitions i assume they make a good round. I hope their not 60$ a box. Any input?

In my opinion the Barnes family of X bullets (TSX, TTSX, LRX) are the best hunting bullets on the market. They will not let you down.

If you are really only 13 you are wise beyond your years young feller. I agree they always perform.

300ultra... that 13 year old is smarter than you. even with no bone a barnes will open up...but who doesnt wanna break bones? :D

Im sure they will open up going 4000 ft per second since you shoot cannons but using conventional rifles such as a 270 win I have proof that they pencil through when the animal is shot in the boiler room. Not the shoulder. Shoot Partitions and never have to worry. I can only lead you to water..

& my experience shows that Partitions explode like C4.... Good varmint bullet though.

I can't comment on your failure, but I am interested in your findings. The TTSX isn't going to pencil unless you're looking at near Transonic velocity... The TSX was/is a little more resilient & need more velocity to open. Will the TTSX open to a rediculous diameter like the Partition? Nope, not made to do that...

Unless you don't hit bone.

I'm gonna have to disagree. I have killed several animals with tipped and non tipped with several caliber like 280 and 308. Ive shotmhogs of all sizes, aoudad, and whitetail. So far they have been devastating. Just awesome. I have watched audad take a 300 win mag through both shoulders and had it run a 100 yds with other ammo. I shot an audad with the tsx from a 280 behind the shoulder not hitting bone and it took one step fell over. Everyone has an opinion but I love these things. Oh I do prefer the non tipped TSX.

Partitions shot out of what explode? Dont drink the TikkaMike Koolaid! He drinks his own bathwater..Partitions are the Most trusted bullet bar none.

6mmAI actually.... very ugly results... shoot great (I mean really well) but I guarantee I won't be shooting anything but varmints with them... el- splatto... got land mine?

I've been shooting the X, TSX, MRX & TTSX for a decade with ZERO regrets. No bullet is perfect, I do believe they have limitations... I just haven't found it yet. One of my out of state hunters uses a 270 w/130 TTSX every year... goes home with a couple coolers full of meat every year too... must be the koolaid!
