So there is a group of us thinking of putting on a rifle golf course near Bone.

It would have Steel targets out to 1000 yds hopfully further.

Just wondering what the turn out would be.

The plan is a morning shoot with a dutch oven breakfast provided for a slight fee. (Just to cover the cost of food.)

Any one interested?gun)

I'm in!

Would be great, thinkin' ahead, to put a team together to go on tour.

Would this be a permanent set up or a set up and take down idea?

We need something similar to what Broz heads up w/the MT shoots.

I've been to Spirit Ridge and feel its a good thing.

I don't care for the "golf" idea but it does seem to add a bit of pressure to the situation which is good. Not the same as killin' rocks with no pressure at all.

roy,
if you are near north idaho come to the shoots that im putting on. no golf yet, but they are steel made life sized small game and big game targets. had a match may 19 with ranges from 200-950 yards great turn out ask broz about it he was there

caleb,

I'm in southeast ID. Would be quite a trip but I'd consider it. Thanks for the invite.

I'll talk to broz this coming weekend.

Roy I thought you might be interested.

As for now it will have to be a take down range, it will all depend on the land owner. There is a hope we can make this into an actual range. Time will tell. I am hoping to have this going by the end of the summer.

I really like Calebs Small game shoot that looks like a blast.

I will keep every one post as to the progress.

I think it sounds great.. would love to meet and shoot with some likeminded people. have just really started getting into this long range game and am addicted. still working on my load development, shooting a 300rum. Have been lurking here for quite awhile and really appreciate all the help ive got. Ill be following this, hope ya get something put together. Dan

Shootermedic,

A brief survey of dedicated LRH/ELR shooters frown on events where time constraints result in hot barrels. Of the 13 LRH shooters today the really dedicated ones, including myself, wouldn't for for something like 20 shots in 20 minutes.

Justa thought...

Spirit Ridge is good as there is plenty of time between the, if I remember correctly, 3 stations with something like 6 shots at each station (12 shots if all first shots are missed). With several shooters at each station barrels have plenty of time to cool.

Keep in mind that LRH is all about the cold bore shot reaching its intended mark.

Keep us posted!

I also learned, today, that hanging steel on belting is much better than hanging gongs on chains.

The hard steel, AR-500 ??? is the way to go. Nothing today from 270 WinMag, 338 RUM and 375 Allen Mag hurt them. They don't flop around as with chains either. Just do a little dance.

My sportsman's challenge match was 14 shots in 20 minutes and is revamping into 7 shots in like 15 minutes and. Then later in the day the other 7 shots. That will also help with making the weather variables fair so no one person gets to shoot all their targets in the calm of the morning and others get the winds and all
