Leupold mark 4 scope
Lapua brass
280 grain Barnes LRX bullets
Federal 215 magnum match primers
84.4 grains of Retumbo
.100 off the lands
shot at 100 yards (thats all i have access to at the moment)
going 2715 fps
3 shot group
forgot to add, shot by my 10 year old little brother (i'm 13)

Whoops forgot he shot it from a lead sled. But the brake is very effective. It feels like a 308 win.
 
My little brother Jim has almost the identical rig that shoots about the same.

Great choice for a factory .338L.

Congrats you obviously got a good one.

Very good shooting there too.
 
When my dad gets back from his black bear hunt id like to stretch it out a little farther. Probably start at 500 and work our way out. The only problem is the wind NEVER stops here in sw north dakota

I've spent a lot of time just south of you in the Timberlake SD area and I can attest to that fact.

It just makes you a better shooter.
 
i want to do some drop tests to figure out the BC of the Lrx. it is advertised at .667 but i think it is going to be a little higher than that
 
Great shooting! I was thinking about one of these in the .338...that's about what I would expect. Nice to see they can keep up.

Thanks, btw it shot all the loada i tested from 84-85 grains in .2 incrementa all at the same point of impact
