My rangefinder was not able to accurately display the range. So 6 shots later im on target. But aside from knowing this particular hunting spots range, im left with a big guess.

I believe its more than 800 yards, less then 900.

Im sighted in @100 with 1.4''scope height. 900ft alt, 85*.

I dialed in 4.2 MOA or 22 clicks (this is right on for 500) but was way low.
So, I eventually found my way to 107 clicks and managed 2 hits out of 3 shots (once I knew the elevation dial was correct) Any clue just how far the shot was? I would shoot, and lose focus and quickly readjust to my scope right as it impacted.

(This was @the river, so my spotter had instant feedback of shot placement.)

Thanks guys.

To give you any type of guess we need more info.Bullet -MV- any incline. With out BC and MV there is no way to reverse engineer drop.

Dang it! I knew I forgot something....

300 WSM 180 GR. SUPER-X

Cartridge: 300 WSM
Bullet Weight: 180
Muzzle Velocity: 2970
Ballistic Co-efficient: 0.438

based on BC and MV 107 1/4 moa clicks would be correct for + - 950 yards.4.2 moa does not compute for 500 yards-but then again my numbers may be all wrong.

On my scope I turn it 22 clicks or hash marks, every time I pass the 4th hash mark, there is a number, I understand that each number is 1 MOA. I may be incorrect. But I will click 4 MOA plus to more hash marks and my rifle is dead on for 465-+ meters.
I may have it all wrong, but so far at the known distance I shoot (the 22 click distance) I can put my cold bore shot inside of an orange. Which is awesome for me!!!

I would love it if its 950 yards!!! That means my 1,000 yard shot is ever so close ;)

OK: Here are the known facts.MV 2970-G7 bc.242 guess without knowing exact bullet shape- 85 deg and 900 elevation 180 gr. -.308 100 zero. corrections -350 4.83 moa-- 500 8.92 moa--- 950 26.46 moa. Numbers some where are wrong as the correction for 500 can't be 4.2 moa .

Well Im 6 inches low @ 300 yards when shooting from Zero. And its a .300WSM, not a .308

The ballistics calculator for my ammo says 47 inches low @500yards which is spot on for my gun/ammo. I cant help it when I dial in 22 clicks and im 100% zeroed for my 500yard shot. Granted, it may be off as much as 10-15 yards. But it is what it is, 4.2 MOA and im there. I dunno, I can get some video if needed?

For your numbers to be right each number has to be two moa.Whether the gun is a .308 or a 300 wsm has no effect on the calculations.Your drop numbers for 500 are right on but your correction numbers have to be double to get the proper correction. The 107 click number-I have no idea.Wait for people smarter than me for an answer.
