I don 't know much at all about AR-10s or Ar-15s... but I want to buy one.
Does any one know if Arma Lite are a good brand to buy?
The salesman said they are, but I would like to get another opinion.

Thanks in advance!

+ 1 on what icanhititman said

Just my opinion.
Stay away from armalite.

A friend of mine had one and it way junk. Q/C was horrible. not many parts interchangeable because not mil-spec.

700man,

got several of them, and they're just fine. Currently in the process of building an M110 on the Armalite AR-10 platform for long range highpower competition.

There is no true Milspec AR-15 rifle except the select fire M16 rifles from Colt and FN that the military uses, but you can still get parts that are made to the "milspec" requirement.
You cant get "milspec" parts for an Armalite AR-15?
The Armalite reveivers are the same as ALL other name brand receivers and will fit all "milspec" items like triggers, hammers, firing pins, bolt and carriers, barrels, hand guards etc...what is "milspec" that wont fit an Armalite that will all other ar-15s? If this is true, than its new to me.
Armalite was the original complete milspec AR-15
To the original poster, Armalites are good dont worry about it. Others might have better quality control than others. You cant have some milspec parts from one company and have "better" milspec parts from another...milspec is milspec.

Just stay away from DPMS and youll be fine.

I personally feel the best company out right now for extreme quality with cost in mind is BCM, but you cant go wrong with any well known maker
Also just because somebody doesnt use 100% "milspec" parts does not mean its junk. For instance Milspec barrel must have a 1-7 twist, but does that mean all other twist rate barrels are garbage? Milspec front sight post...so if you take it off and add a different sight=junk? No. Milspec trigger...you take it out and put in a match trigger=junk because no longer milspec? hell no

I've used a lot of Armalite parts along with RRA...I have no problems with either one and prefer them to many others.

There is absolutely nothing wrong or junk about an Armalite Rifle.

"milspec" doesn't mean didly squat when it comes to reliability or accuracy. It's just a way for the military to keep things compatible.
Armalite has a unique pattern lower for its AR10 line of rifles. With the exception of the AR10A that is used on the NEW Super SASS which is even more unique (for the better).
There are countless factory, out of the box, sub moa and sub 1/2 moa Armalite rifles and uppers.
All you need to do is be sure you know what you want and need if you plan to build yourself, and then make sure its designed for an Armalite Rifle.

That said, there are TONS of other rifles in the .308 size class that are equally as accurate and more compatible due to the fact that they follow the DPMS/KAC pattern, which is more popular, and therefore, has more aftermarket parts available.

I so agree with you. This whole "milspec" trend is just everyone thinking that whatever the military uses is the coolest thing on earth and everything else must be garbage.
The ONLY part in an AR15 that Id maybe care for being up to "milspec" standard would be the bolt carrier group, but even then it doesnt matter.
Like if you go to ar15.com all you hear is the BCM koolaid drinkers that act like if you dont own a trendy BCM (ya they are good but so are others) then your rifle sucks and you should never be seen in public with it.
I guarantee that an Armalite, RRA, bushmaster..etc will run just as hard and long without failures as a BCM, LMT, or Colt.
I read on a forum that a guy said RRA was horrible because his gas key wasnt staked very good, so instead of taking 5 seconds to stake it, he bought a BCM bolt carrier group because they are staked to "milspec" LOL.....this is the kind of BS that gets spread around making people think that only BCM or LMT..etc is the way to go and everyone else is junk. Its just total BS
