Thinking about hanging Brake routers say 200 yds. I know their steel castings I wonder if they'll brake or be safe to shoot at sling shots and High power rifles ?

I shoot steel plow disk at 400 yards, just blows hole through it..I also shoot railroad plates at 400 yards, I angle them down because a bullet just splats against them...I've layed down cardboard under these plates and shot them with Ballistic Tips, the cardboard looks like a shotgun hit'em.

get yourself some AR 500 plate steel and you will never regret it
AR 500 $$$$$$$$ trying to shoot steel on a budget .

If you know someone that works for a construction comp that has loaders or motor graders see if you can have there old cutting edges. I have some and are holding up pretty well.

a manhole lid can take quite the beating especially from longer distances.
Where are you going to get a man hole lid ? They're back breakers.

sewer work replacing old manholes and took lids and castings home figured I would give them a try shot the one with my 300 win mag from 50 yards and it put a little pock mark in it. they aren't that heavy but I wouldnt want to pack one around all day.
+1 on old cutting edges, this target taken hits from 300gr berger at 2900 fps as close as 400 yards with no damage or dimples. Target is 3'X3', also the curved surface of the blades can make a large bullet splash that you can easily spot in your scope at a mile.

Keep a eye out here there is a guy who does group buys on AR plates everynow and then the prices are real good.
By your name I am guessing you can work with metal. If you get some plate let me know I can send you cad drawing for a stand that works great and costs about 15 bucks to build

and the really great part is that when it doesn't go "clang" you can tell the audience that you hit that hole you were aiming for.

When I first put the target together I thought the holes were going to pose a problem but for some reason I rarely hit the holes, but when you do it is easy to spot the hole in the dirt behind the target.
I think you are referring to Jcvibby. He definatley has some of the best deals around. I know he will be receiving some business from me in the near future.

I have bought from him before and will probably be doing it again.
The system I use is preaty slick I can carry 5-6 targets at a time on my 4 wheeler with no problem. I HAD enough to set up a 1000 yard range anywhere. But some jack wagon stole everything I had.

Yep I'm an Ironworker/welder( a retired one). I worked for various contractors out of a union hall. Now to build stuff I need to buy a welder and cutting torch set. In the mean time I'll shoot at wheel roaters that I pick up at the junk yard. Yes I'd be interested in some cad drawings. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to self design a rotating target.
