How to post w/a quote

I noticed that it is possible to quote from someones post into your reply. But how do you do only a partial quote into your reply?
I am not real computer savy that is why I have children. To walk me step by step thru it.

I hit the "quote" button in the bottom right corner of Winmags post, it then puts his quote at the top of my response. I can go in and delete whatever portion of his quote that I don't want.

I'm not sure how to do 2 quotes in one post but maybe someone else will chime in.

Figured it out... if you click on the "mutiple quote" button in the bottom right of the post it will highlight red. Click as many of these multi quotes as you want. Then click the normal "quote" button next to the side of one of the multi-quotes you have selected. It will automatically start your post with all selected quotes and you can modify them as you wish.

Make sense? It's easier to do than explain.

Here's the way I do it. . . Kinda

Full quote - press quote instead of reply. Well DUH you say! My youngest kid is nearly 30. so cut me some slack

Partial quote- same as full quote then highlight whatcha don't want and delete it

Multiple quotes - a little tougher cookie for us impatient guys

Copy the selected stuff from the OP's thread into your thread. It will not appear as a quote unless you type

on both ends of the stuff you pasted.

It will not show from whom the quote was taken. it takes a bit more effort to get this shown. I get along well w/o it most times.

There are several ways to do it and, believe it or not, you've mentioned all of them so far.

To do a simple quote, just use the "Quote" icon at the lower right corner of the post you want to quote and the entire post will appear in your new, edit window and will be wrapped with Quote markers. If you only want part of the quoted post to appear in your new post then just delete the part you don't want in your new post.

To do multiple quotes, just click on the "Multiple Quote" icon at the lower right corner of each post you want to quote. Do this in the order you want them to appear in the new post. Then, on the last post in which you clicked the "Multiple Quote" icon, also click on the "Quote" icon and you will find that all of the posts you selected by using the "Multiple Quote" icon will have appeared in your new post and they will be place in the order in which you clicked on each post's "Multiple Quote" icon. You can now delete portions of each quote if needed and then add your own text etc. and you will have your new post that contains all of the multiple quotes that you selected.

You can also drag and highlight text in a post, right click on it and click save. Then you can go to your new edit window, right click and then click on paste and the text will appear in your new edit window. However it will not be wrapped in quote markers yet. Just highlight the text you just pasted into your new edit window and then click on the "Quote" icon at the top of the page and your pasted text will be wrapped in quote markers and will now show as a quote in your new post. The "Quote" icon at the top of your edit window looks like a square page will text in it and is just to the right of the "insert image" icon. You can do this multiple times in a single post if you need to.

Just remember that if you quote a post that contains a quote, you won't transfer the quote in the original post. However you can get the whole post, including it's own quote by using the last method above.

There now, it all as clear as mud.
