Who makes triggers for the older Savage 112 flat rear actions? Mine doesn't resemble any in the Brownells or Midway online catalogs. It has a single countersunk screw that holds it in place against a lateral groove in the bottom of the receiver. It has an integral safety mounted on the side of the trigger housing that pushes a pointed pin in and out from the side of the action and blocks the trigger travel. It's problem is that creep can't be tweeked out without disabling the safety.
Savage trigger creep has gotta go!

Okay, it is a tang safety. From the description I thought it was a slide safety down by the trigger lever. Whew. Had me going.
There are several that make triggers for the older Savages. Having a Savage you will find the most help at the website I directed you to. Tons of info there.
I've still never seen such a thing so a photo would help. All the the Savages I have are tang safety(never seen any other version) but the trigger has a set screw on the rear that engages the safety. They all have a pivoting piece on the side but it is the sear/bolt stop/release. The trigger bracket and sear/bolt stop/release are held in place with a pin through the action rather than a counter sunk screw also.

If you have a regular 112 it should have a factory 3 screw trigger which is adjustable in all the aspects of the SSS and rifle basix except over travel. You adjust the sear screw to remove creep then adjust the safety screw in the back to where it has slight drag on the safety and your issue should go away.
You can adjust overtravel with a three screw trigger, that's what one of the screws is for. The other two are sear and safety engagement.
What was the fix? I assume it was a simple adjustment after understanding the mechanics of the trigger?

Maybe you can tell me something I don't know, but I can't see a use for the center screw unless you remove the side bar spring and cut a piece of whatever tension spring you want from packs of wolff universal springs and use that for the pull weight adjustment, that's what I do. There is no screw all the way in the back to touch the trigger housing for overtravel. So please explain what you mean, hell I'm here to learn to.
Savage 110 Trigger Adjustment explains everything. The second screw in the back of the trigger is recessed just in front of the safety adjustment screw on my 112 .
