Good deal on a couple of hunting rifles, what one would you buy?

Good deal on a few guns what one would you buy, have some good deals from a local FFL? The longest hunting shot will be 600 meters. Will use for deer, bear, moose, elk.

I don't like the Rem action, if I did have a custom done later it would be a .375 Rum on a Sako or Ruger action.

For the prices listed, the Sako is the buy.

I'd buy the Sako and the stainless Ruger.
Then I'd go sell the Ruger for $200 more and be happy.

Another vote for the SAKO M995 if the stock is in good shape, otherwise it could set you back ~1K for an after market stock.

I have read that the SAKO M995 stocks and bolt handles have a tendency to crack. It has a custom Krieger barrel on it without a brake, must have some recoil. Mags are running $100 a pop also.

It is ALLOT of cartridge. If it has a custome barel, the next question is, how many rounds down the pipe?

It ( 338 ) is another world compared to your other choices. For the average shooter etc, after the 30 06, it's all window dressing

Less than 100 down the tube. The .338 I would gather it would out last a 300 winny. Been blasting deer at 400 yards with a single shot .223 for years. He just let me know of a few offers he had. The .300 and .338 I could just buy as I know I won't lose any money on either on them. Had a 416 Rigby and shot it 20 times, why would I want a gun like that, not recoil sensitive.

Mine is a .300WM and do not have problem on either stock or bolt. The bolt and action is solid.

I heard someone that cracked the stock and blamed it on the lead sled. He was using 50 pounds or so of counter weight . The price for the mag is about right.

Picked up .338 from my FFL today with the 300 Win Mag also. Much better deal than I thought on .338, the barrel is a 28-1/2" Hart Heavy S.S Barrel with a Hart screw on brake and custom built by Robert W Hart & Sons, rebedded and trigger work. I won't lose any money on this one even if I shot it for years.
