Remington 700 Sendero 7mm STW barrel rifle twist?

I just bought a slighly used Remington 700 Sendero 7mm STW and I don't know the rifle barrel twist. It's no longer listed on the Remington website. Does anyone know who has this rifle remember what the rifle barrel twist is in the 7mm STW?

If it is a factory STW, it is 1 in 9. That should stabilize all the way to 180 grain, and then some. Good luck and have fun with that rifle. It is a awesome caliber, and mine always amaze me to this very day. P/S, they will shoot circles around a 7 RUM any day! Much easier to load for, not finicky, and man do they shoot flat. Brass is a issue now, but it avail. Or you can make it. Drop me a line if you need load info.

i belive it was 9 1/4 when it listed i run 180`s had no issues yet

Yup, you are right! I measured mine, and it was exactly that. However, I do have a friend that has a sendero that was made in 1997, and his rate of twist is exactly 1 in 9. I have read of 1 in 9 1/4, and 1 in 9 1/2. One of mine is 9 1/4, and the other two are at 9 1/2. All three will shoot 180's. Wonder about the new 195's.

Well I called Remington the other day and read them my Serial number and the person said my Remington 700 Sendero 7mm STW was built in 1997. I just measured my barrel twist, it is 1 in 9.

Now I'm stoked to try out those 195 bergers!
