Waiting for my Bison

I've got a Bison Armory 6.8SPC Recon upper on order... and have since Feb 9. The wait is starting to kill me, especially since it was only supposed to be 2 or 3 weeks at most. The 6.8 forums guys seem to have mixed feelings as to whether this wait is getting acsessive, or if it just usually takes em that long to slap an upper togather. I wouldn't normally worry about it, but I tried to add to my order 2 weeks ago (by both email and phone) and still haven't heard back yet. I was just wondering if anyone around here has had any dealings with Bison Armory. Bison came highly recommended, but I'm starting to have my doubts. What do you guys think?

A look at their website shows that Bison Armory is about 4 years old. They assemble uppers and rifles with components from an assortment of suppliers. A company like that is at the mercy of their suppliers for delivery times. All I can recommend is patience. Calling them frequently can only slow them down. Changing your order can move you to the back of the queue or even give an excuse to change the price.

Just to cheer you up I had one well known "manufacturer" of 50 caliber AR-15s take 10 months to deliver a non-custom model when their website said 4 to 6 weeks. The wait won't kill you. Anxiety might. Just shoot something else until your upper arrives.

Got a call from the owner today, got a change made, and it ships tomorrow. Bison is a small outfit, and Ben had to leave town last week. Guess I'd rather wait a little bit longer than expected and know that I can rely on that kind of personalized service. I'll let ya know in a couple days...

Your wait will be so worth it. I bought a used barrel off of a fellow shooter on the 6.8 website, and put together an upper. its an 18 inch barrel and i have shot a .434" 4 shot group with a 4x scope at 100 yards using 90 grain hp's. The cool thing is that this is just load development, and the 110 prohunters shoot the same poi. I love my bison! You will to!

Good to hear. Ben at Bison has a great reputation, so I'm not too worried. Turns out he was out of town for a couple weeks. Got my UPS tracking notice on Thurs. It'll be here by Monday evening! It's making for a very slow weekend...
