I have a new winchester extreme weather in .270 win I am getting 3/4" to 1 1/8" groups at 100 yrds depending on what factory load I am shooting. This model has the Bell and Carlson composite stock with an aluminium bedding block. And the MOA trigger. Would glass bedding the action help? Or is this about as good as I should expect out of a factory barrel? Any other tips u experts have. Thanks in advance for any replys.......

.75 is not a bad group for factory ammo. It wouldn't hurt to skim bed the action as I have done that on the same stock. In the end with mine I rebarelled and had the action blueprinted.......waiting on arrival to try it out.

Bed it. You'll be amazed at just the difference in feel. It'll prevent fliers and other inconsistencies.

I've seen a well bedded rifle shoot 1/2 minute with the action screws loose. :D Ask no questions, I'll tell no lies.

The B & C and the HS Precision stocks are awesome with the blocks but you still need to bed them to get the most accurace out of them.

Thanks for the replys. I am going to get some prices to have it bedded. Also trying to figure out some where in the house to set up a place to reload. Kinda hard with a 2 yo running around here.

Where are you at?
I'm sure someone here can help with referrals of good gunsmiths.

I live in Magnolia, Tx. Pete Pieper is in Hempstead Tx. He has Precision Barrel Works. A well known gun smith that specializes in bolt action rifles. He is probly who I will take it to. How much should I expect to pay?
