How much different is it? I noticed they have data for the 8mm rem mag using h100- but not retumbo? But they list both for the 264 win mag. I don't know if its because test rifle 8mm had 24" and 264 had 26"?

It's tough for anyone to list every possible combo for a load and also both H1000 and Retumbo are better choices for a 264 Win mag than they are for an 8mm Rem mag.

Can that apply on down to a 243 as well? If so, I'll store this in my 243 load folder for use some day if I ever get to reloading that puppy. (...it's for the 3yr G D)

I use Retumbo in my 243 Ackley Improved and it does a great job. I would only use it in a 243 for the heavier bullets. I am shooting the 105 grain VLD's at 3200 fps out of a 26" barrel.

isn't retumbo just h1000 with a coating extra coating for a slower, cleaner more stable burn?

H1000 and Retumbo are two very different powders. That being said they are excellent powders. I use H1000 in my 7STW with 140-145 gr. bullets. I use Retumbo also in my STW with 180 gr. bullets. H1000 is okay with 300 gr. bullets in my 338 Lapua but Retumbo is better and US869 is better yet. Try them both. If you know someone with quickload they can get you pointed in the right direction with Retumbo and your 8mm mag.
