What height Burris Zee rings for my Savage

Hey, I bought myself a Vortex Viper 4-16x50 HS. I'll be getting my Savage Model 16 270 WSM in a couple of weeks. want to mount it using the Burris Signature Zee 420588 rings and a EGW Savage Picatinny Tactical Rail Scope mount 0MOA 41200. My question is which height rings do I need to go with, medium, high or extra high?

30mm tube, correct?

The High size worked perfectly for me with this same scope in the LR version. (420587 for High)

Yes it has the 30mm tube. Sounds like I need to do the same thing by using the high rings. How much room do you have between the barrel and the scope at the bell?

Rifle is at Dad's place so I can't say for sure. I can just get a cover on the objective if that helps, but we're using the regular Signature rings which are a tiny bit shorter (see link I provided), and the bases (Leupold) are probably a tiny bit shorter too. I suspect that a medium ring will be too short for you but the difference is 0.125 inches (1/8 inch) if you mock yours up and see how much room there is. That's what I did when setting up the rifle.

I can probably check the rifle in the next few days if you wish.

The mediums should give plenty of clearance. My 44mm Vortex with those rings and base has ~3/8" clearance, and that's with no taper to the barrel. The extra 6mm of objective should reduce the clearance to about 1/4", which is what my 50mm Sightron has with the same set-up on a different rifle.

Medium Burris rings will work just fine.I use the medium Burris Signature Zee rings on all of my Savage rifles with 1 pc rails and 50mm objective lense scopes.

Those rails obviously make a huge difference in added height.

I went and took a picture for you today. Leupold bases, turn-in 30mm high Burris rings on a Weatherby Mark V. See clearance below. You could not use mediums on this rifle.
