223 Zeiss conquest or IOR Valada

I have a 223 that i just sold the 8.5x25x50 leupold VX-3 off of becuase of tracking issues and clarity problems I'm looking at a Zeiss 6.5x20x50 or a IOR Valdad 3x18x42or50 35mm tube whats your thoughts probably wont shoot any farther than 400-500 yards until I get my 243 barrel in

You just got rid of an awfully nice scope. You should have instead just sent it into Leupold. If there's anything wrong with a leupold they'll take care of it under their lifetime warranty.

That being said both of those you are looking at are great scopes. The conquest will be the brighter/better in low light, the IOR will be superior in bright light and has much greater rage of adjustability which won't matter much at .223 ranges but it's nice to have if/when you decide to go with a longer range weapon.

I have the 6-24x50 IOR Tactical with the 35mm Tube and love it. Also have the 4-14x50 30mm Tube. Love them both. The IOR MP-8 reticle is my favorite of all reticles as well and it's only available on their scopes.

With the .223 though Unless you're shooting rats at over 400yds you really don't need more than the 14x magnification and the 4 or 4.5-14's are going to run you considerably less than the 20-24x scopes if budget is a consideration.

Leupold Mark IV's should be on your list as well if you are looking at the above scopes though as they are superb and in the same price range. They will be better than any of the above scopes in low light conditions as well.

thanks for the input as far as the leupold goes for 1100.00 dollars I should not have to send it back i have heard of lots of tracking issues with all there scopes reguardless of what kind they are . they say once you send it in it works fine so why not build it right from the get go , most leupold i and my brother have had adjustment issues tired of that, just because they have a great warranty does'nt mean you should have to use it right out the box .

Your choice. I've owned dozens of them and never had an issue but other's mileage may vary.
