Are you looking for a heavy barrel or standard barrel version? I have seen a few on Gunbroker lately that aren't terrible deals depending on how far you want to go with it.

There is a standard barrel 40x for sale on Snipers Hide right now. This one is based on the 722 footprint though, and has the straight bolt handle. Are you looking for a 40XB with the 700 style footprint and bolt?

Have you checked out the CMP North store in Ohio. I don't live far from there and bought 5 of them last year and sold all but 4 of them. they usually have the barrelled actions without bolts for 275.00$ Although I wouldent count on the barrel being any good 4 of the 5 I bought were toast. PT&G has bolts for 200.00$ a stock will run you 75 or so trigger well there are many choices. If they have them I might be Inclined to make a trip up there I was selling them for 300.00$

I just found a barreled action with matching bolt and original trigger for sale at snipershide.com in the rifles for sale section, I don't know the seller but the pictures look good and the price is fair ,this won't last much longer. Semper FI

i guess the xb, i am no expert with these, i just know there were 722 and 700 based actions. i want the 700.

as far as standard or heavy barrel, i'd prefer a standard barrel but heavy is fine too.

I agree 100% build what suits you and no one else. I wanted the action stamped USMC because I am a Veteran, and I thought that was a cool feature. I also wanted a lightweight gun for hunting tree rats so I put it in a 700 stock. I have closely examined the bolts and from the ones I looked at the PT&G just seemed to fit better than the original ones. There seams to be way to many folks asking does the bolt match the action?. well yes but what good it that if it's worn out. Here is a picture of the one I put together it dosent look like much but it really shoots. The groups are 50 yards.

I'll let this one go for $1800, comes with extra Lilja 3 groove 1:16 twist barrel blank and extra Harrell tuner. Has Obeche Baby Tracker stock, 2oz Jewell trigger, Weaver 36X scope and Hoehn tuner.

WOW! thats all i can say about that 40x. i would love to own it, but, its a bit too much coin for my blood. the wife would end my gun shooting and collecting immediately if she knew i bought that.
