Please forgive my lack of computer skills. I am going to try and post my rifle for sale here. Hopefully I will be able to even get some pictures up. This is a Remington Ultra Mag in the .338 caliber. It has been customized by Hart Rifle Barrels Inc. The action has been trued and lugs lapped. It has a Hart 10" twist 26" long sendero contour barrel with about 300 rounds fired thru it. The stock is HS precision with aluminum bedding block. It shoots great and is certainly capable of 1/2" groups if you are. It has a vais muzzle brake , Jewell trigger set at just under 2lbs, 20 MOA nightforce rail, Vortex Precision matched rings, Vortex Razor HD 5-20X50 EBR-2MRAD Scope. Eagle Scope Cover and Muzzel protector, Blackhawk padded cheek and ammo pouch with Atlas BT-10 bipod with a pica-tinny rail mount.

I have had fun putting this package together and enjoy shooting it a lot, it is something I have always wanted to do but never got around to before. I am in my late 50's and I planned on making this gun to take on pack in Elk Hunts as a long range rifle. Instead I have found that I do not have the heart to take such a beautiful firearm into such harsh conditions and pack it on a horse with the chance of it being damaged. So this fall it stayed in the safe and I took my factory rifle. Oh well life is a journey and so I am going to sell this gun that I have only taken to the range and shot off of a bench. All of the added components to the rifle are in new condition as well as the rifle itself is in perfect condition. I have worked up a great load with this gun and have a drop chart out to 700 yards. If interested I can add ammo and load data to this deal. I hope that there is someone interested in this gun that lives in my local area of Wyoming so I don't have to go through a gun dealer to sell it. I need $4800 for everything, so if interested let me know. Thanks for looking

I will verify that this rifle is a shooter! Been at the range with it and Berry and watched with his load development. Great gun. The other thing he didn't mention is that his accuracy load with 300 smk's is in the 2850 fps range (eat your heart our 338 edges) bolt is on the wrong side for me, plus I already have a shooter 338 rum

I was curious about your load data(type and amount of powder, primer, etc.). I have a 338RUM and am shooting the same ballistics as you. I've killed several elk at long range, with my personal best being one shot 955yds walking.

thx

btw, that's a nice gun you should keep it.

Do you have any brass you would be willing to part with?

I would like to keep the gun, but I know that I would not take it hunting unless I were going to hunt off the road and I just don't do that. I think this is a bad time of year to list it as everyone is taking care of Christmas, so I will probably wait and list it again in the fall. How much brass are you needing?
BR

That depends on how much you would sell it for. I would like to pick up a couple hundred rounds. I don't hunt from the road either and I figure the extra weight is well worth the effort when your long range hunting. I'm 54yrs old and don't mind the weight. However, if your area doesn't accommodate 500+ yd shots you don't need that size of weapon.

I don't have enough brass to help you out, sorry. As far as hunting long range I took an elk at 754 yds and 856 yds this year, both with a light weight factory rifle. The custom is more accurate, at least it shows it on paper at the range but I have to much invested in it to take a chance with it on my hunts.
