I'm thinking I want a Greybull stock for my next build, but I'm not able to get my hands on one to get a feel. The only thing that looks questionable from the pictures I've seen is the grip size...looks large compared to others.

Can anyone comment on the grip size both in general and in comparison to other similar vertical grip style stocks (McMillan A2, Manners T2, for example). Is it larger or similar to other vertical grip stocks?

Thanks.

I am the same boat as you - would love to hear anyone's comments. Wish there was one in my area that I could get the feel of.

Haven't shot any of the other stocks for comparison but I didn't find the greybull grip to be too large. I short fingers and didn't have any issues.

I went with a GreyBull on my last build, it was the first GreyBull I have owned and I went with the stock without having handled it prior. Benchmark barrels suggested I try one they had a selection of them on hand in the shop. Upon receiving my custom rifle from Benchmark, I got a good chance to look at it and I was pleased with the fit and general look but as others have mentioned, it is a bit thick throughout the vertical grip. I dint pay that much attention to it, due to the fact I shoot most of my vertical grip style stock with my thumb resting center on top. Very rarely do I take a full wrap around grip on the vertical.

Well after my first range session I found out in a hurry that with my new rifle chambering I defanitly needed to take a full grip on the vertical to help manage the recoil and to keep the trigger guard from recoiling rear ward and slapping my middle finger wrapped around the front of the vertical grip. A 450 Ultra Magnum with a 500gr bullet on top of 103gr of Win748 is lively to say the least on the bench. When I took a full grip it felt larger than A5's or A3's I shoot but it didn't feel uncomfortable. My thought was, I would like it to be a bit slimmer but it will do fine.

It feels about the same as an A-3 to me. Nice stock, especially for the money. Don't think you would be dissapointed. The stock seams much smaller to me in person than it appears in pics.

Thanks for the replies everyone...and the pics are great. I think I'm sold. This stock seems to fill a niche that nobody else can fill with the vertical grip design on the long action and $350 price point.

As a bunch of you may know already GreyBull contracts the stocks through B&C ( Bell and Carlson ). I have had people turn up their nose at the B&C stock on my rifle. The fact of the matter is, the stock is great, the price is great and I remind them that even GA PRECISION runs B&C stocks on their custom " Non Typical" rifle model with a price tag of just at 3K delivered. You won't be disappointed.
