I am wanting to get started in shooting long distance. Are Best of the West DVDs worth the money? I saw the first serires for 100 bucks at Cabela's. I don't want to spend 100 dollars if I am not going to learn anything? I appreciate any info or opinions. Thank you.

Another vote for the Defensive Edge Videos. I have watched most all of them , plus I have shot with Shawn and Bob. They are no BS guys and know their stuff. No injected hype to sell products either.

Most everything I have learned regarding basic "how-to" and "what equipment" information was free and came from this site. The rest can only come from practice in the field. I'm sure the DVD's are great and worth the $$$, but they are not necessary - especially if you are on a budget. Dig in and read. There is a wealth of info recorded hear on past threads on just about every LRH topic.

I have bought both the Defense Edge and BoTW. DE is better for learning but the BoTW is also fun to watch. I don't get BoTW on the Sportsman Channel so the only way I could watch them was to buy their videos. I liked them.

So that's why I'll say of my grandkids at home at family gatherings:

"Ollie, you are the cutest BOY baby in the state", since Andy's cute girls are there, too. :D

I have the Beyond belief series and I was both dissapointed and learned some things, in how to shoot beyond belief, John Burns has some great info on how to set up a factory rifle and how to properly shoot and gather your data. I was really disapointed in how to dope the wind beyond belief, found the history lesson to be drawn out and boring, but in the same breath John Porter's tips and lessons are great,That man is a wealth of information and really knows his stuff. The video beyond belief is just a good hunting video and you may or may not pick up some useful info depending on your own longrange experience. The Beyond belief2 Video is probably the BEST HUNTING video I have ever seen, Its just a great video and you will pick up some great info on how to judge the wind and once again old John Porter shows just how knowledgeable he is and the man is A **** fine shot! Over all I would say its worth the money.
