Has a limbsaver buttpad.
For Remington 700 SA ADL
No cheek piece/no checkering
text in mag well is "HS HS 9"

Showed HS these pictures, and they say it's not theirs because of no aluminum block and the paint pattern. B&C says it's not theirs because there isn't any cheek piece.

Not a lot... other than the guy I bought it from sold it to me as an HS.

Seems to me I heard of a Harvey Snitkin over in Harmony Pennsylvania dabbled in making stocks awhile back. Very few of them have ever turned up. You may want to watch for Antiques Road Show when it comes by your area.

Who's that gunsmith up in western Wa. State? He's got a c-n-c machine & does AMAZING work on bedding jobs. That kinda has his look to it. Do a search on bedding in the gunsmith section. The guys a member here, & way cool to talk to. Maybe its his work.

yup. did a search for posts started by chad. all the pics in his bedding threads have been deleted though.

If the stock is pretty light I would bet it's a Hightech Specialties stock which became Basner I believe. I have a few with the same raised lettering in the bottom. They use to be out of California.

I'm from the Black Hills of S. Dakota. Sturgis to be more specific.

While the bedding job on this stock is pretty nice and probably just fine, it's not at all how I do it.

I don't know who's stock that is. Doesn't really look like a McMillan. Least not any I'm familiar with. H/S stocks all have the chassis setup as far as I know. Maybe a B/C? (never used one so don't know anything about them) Could be a RimRock or a number of others maybe. There's a few guys out there making stocks these days.

Thanks Chad. It's hard to tell in the pictures I put up, but Chad's work is definitely several notches above this stock. don't get me wrong, this stock has a solid looking bedding job, but it doesn't compare to Chad's pics.
