Hi!

I´m looking to buy the March 3-24 and wonder if someone has tried it in field/hunting. I hunt in very cold conditions and have some doubts about the reliability of the scope.
Anyone?

Regards

I run a March 2.5-25x42 scope which is a very similar model to the one that you are looking at. It is mounted on a light weight 338 RUM and is working very well.

Not sure why you would worry about its ability to handle cold conditions? I don't see why it would be any different to any other high end optic.

As a compact type scope however you will have to put up with some compromises. I have done a review on mine that you might find interesting.
It can be read here......... http://www.austargets.com/march25.htm

Doubts based on what info? I haven't read one negative thing about the March's except for the 42mm obj being a bit dark which less of a negative than just a reality of a smaller obj.

Here is a link with some good info on it.

High End Tactical Scopes: Part III

High End Tactical 1 and 2 are very informative as well.

There is not much info to get except from benchrest shooters and I think there is a difference in using a scope in a shooting range compared to hunting in harsh conditions. Hence the question.

I have 2 of the 2.5x25's and have used them in a downpour of rain, and in Saskatchewan winter of -25c so far no problem with them. As far as a hunting and target scope and I do both, they are very versatile, I really like them!
My 2 models are the hunting with covered turrets and the tactical model, both with the due plex reticle and 2nd focal plane.
