TAC 15i Customization?

Just made a straight up trade for a NIB TAC 15 (or so I thought) Did it over the internet so sight unseen. Instead of a TAC 15 the guy had a 15i. I already had a RRA lower and Magpul PRS and was set to order a Timney trigger. Before I send it back (unopened) is the 15i customizable? Can I substitute my lower and stock for the 15i's set up? I guess what I want to know is, Is the 15i simply a TAC 15 with a separate lower that can't be converted to a firearm?
Second, I've seen youtube videos of TAC 15/15i with the biscuit removed and replaced with a drop away rest. Are there any that are commercially available? If not, how do you go about rigging a drop away rest and which one do you start with? Thanks in advance, I've learned a ton about the TAC 15/15i from this forum already.

You can not put your AR lower on a TAC-15i's upper part. The TAC-15i is built to where the upper and lower are bolted together. You might be able to put your stock on the 15i's lower.

I own a TAC-15i and to me it is harder to work on than a TAC-15. To get to the internal parts (hammer, trigger) of a TAC-15i, you have to un-bolt it from the upper vs. simply popping a pin a swinging a TAC-15 open.

I haven't seen a commercial (aftermarket) drop away rest designed specifically for the TAC-15.

I believe there was one in the works, but I have not seen a finished product. If you come across one, please post back. I would like to ditch my TAC-15i Biscuit rest.

Mine was a prototype, but the maker has since began producing and selling plenty of them. Once you make the cut over you'll never look back to the old rests.

I just finished tuning my TAC15i for broadheads, since hunting season starts here next week. I'm using the Phat Head Broadheads, but I can probably tune for almost any head with good accuracy. My point was that I'm able to consistently hit a 1 inch florescent dot at up to 70 yards. The only reason I'm stated 70 yards is because I haven't shot at a longer distance yet because my property only goes to 70 yards, so I would need to go elsewhere to shot further.

It's not instant and it's not automatic. There is some additional tuning work involved, but the accuracy is worth it. I can easily shoot 3 vane or 4 vane configurations and in moments adjust for either. The rest has no wear points, so once you are tuned you're tuned until you break something.

P.S. RMB and Super 91 have also made the switch to QAD Rests. There are others as well but I don't maintain any type of lists or records on how many.
I don't recommend making this change until after hunting season because it will require a week or more before you are fully up and running with the new set up.
