I'm looking forward to visiting a bass pro and when I head to America. are they as awesome as they look on YouTube? Or are privately owned hunting stores better?

The Cabela's whildlife displays are awesome to say the least. I can usually get out of the store in an hour to 1 1/2 hrs if I really hurry. Plan to spend a 1/2 a day if you brouse all areas including the fine gun librairy. The larger cities have larger stores with more to see. The most impressive of the ones I have been in is in Kansas City.

Cabelas are pretty sweet. I have a cabelas and a gander mountian within 20 minuetes of my house. We used to have a sportsmans warehouse, I really liked that store...

Where in America are you coming?

Cabela's is more for hunting which I like and Bass Pro is more for fishing both are good. Sportman's warehouse is also one of my favorite.

WyoElk is right on. Never been to a Bass Pro Shop but Cabelas is awesome as is Sportsman's Warehouse. The privately owned shops are fun to visit too because you never know what you'll find there.

Too tall I live in australia visiting them all would probley cost me 1000's and 1000's of dollars I'm just wondering are they as awesome as I dare imagen? I'm goin to both cabales and bass pro shop in Dallas when I get there

Been to Cabelas in Fort Worth,Texas. It is one top notch outdoors superstore. The Bass Pro Shops store in Grapevine,Texas pales in comparison. Used to have two Sportsman's Warehouse stores in the Las Vegas area but they're both closed. What a shame!

I built the one in Vegas, & my buddy built the one in Henderson. I also started the remodel for the Sportsmans in Carson, plus I built the ones in Lacey Wa. Burlington Wa., & Nampa I'd.
Needless to say I was broken hearted when Stu went under. I worked for Eckman Mitchell & building those stores was my dream job. The Sportsmans folks that did the storeset & us construction guys were kinda like family. I miss those times. Great construction company & great Sportsmans employees.
Anyhow, long story shorter,....
I'd been to a few Cabellas- awesome stores- & built Sportsmans- also way cool without all the eye candy- but while in Vegas I thought I'd died & gone to heaven when I walked into Bass Pro. Holy cow! Definately worth a visit!!!
My only complaint was waiting at the gun counter for almost an hour until my turn, then got sent to the back of the line because you aparently needed to draw a number to talk to the folks behind the gun counter. Needless to say Bass Pro lost out on the $1200.00 in my pocket, & I went & spent it at Sportsmans.

Man I miss that job. I haven't had even 1/4 of that in my pockett since....:D ahhh the good ol' days....
Ya go see em. They're as cool as you can imagine, & some stores surpass what you dare to imagine......

Archery ranges in all 3 of the ones mentioned. Rifle/pistol ranges...
None in Sportsmans. Probably depends on store locations, & local jurrisdictions for Bass Pro & Cabellas, I don't know. But archery lanes in all for sure..

I went to my first cabalers ever in Allen Texas and I was everything I thought it could be and more. I can't belive you can walk straight up to the gun rack and handle all the rifles and shotguns it was great also the ammunition I was standing there next to a staff member and I was opening a box or 2 of bullets and taking them out an looking at them. The only problem was I had to spend $65 and about the same on the way back in a taxi because it was so far from my hotel never the less it was worth it. I envy people that can go there anytime they want. Everything is so god dam cheap here compared to australia so if I ever hear anyone complain about the price of hunting equpment and rifles and anything like that in america i will personaly fly to america and bitch slap you so hard your unborn grand children will come out well behaved
